Your point of view about a Peavey 5150 II

Hi eveybody,

I have an opportunity to buy a second hand peavey 5150 II.

The guy said the transformer was changed for "a better on", so the amplifier produces less hum/noise.

The price is 950 euros (I'm belgian).

What do you think of that ? of this particuliar amplifier ?

I'm not a fan to be honest. The II model loses the character of the 5150 that I personally love. I'd sooner aim for a JSX. But if it works for you, by all means snap it up.

for 950 you almost get a ne 6505 (just got mine for 999)...

Try there. It's a sister-company of GuitarBargains, which has very good prices all over Europe. At the Finnish online store of GB, a 6505 head costs 885 euros + shipping 109 euros (ridiculous, but still cheaper than regular stores) = 994 euros. And you have to remember that our VAT is 22 %. I don't know what it is in Belgium, but it has to be lower than that
