What were you at high school?

Dork/geek/ whatever bullshit label.

I'm doing a study on the social circles that different music is liked by.

And if you are still in high-school (like me) what are you.

AND NO FLAMING!

I'm in my last year of high-school and I'm not very popular among the kids. I fact I think I have more to talk about with my teachers. I'm studying music and you'd think that a musical class would mean same interests but NO. There are only two guys in my class who are into prog but I'm no match for them since they play way better than I do.
The rest listen to ordinary and/or depressing music.
Where are all you like-minded people in Sweden!? :err:

That was tooooooo long ago. I don't remember! :dopey:

OK, when moments come and I can see through the fog of those days, I can remember! During high school, I was very popular because I was a musician in a band and ran with the party kids. It was one big party (it was the early 70's) I am thankful I never hurt anyone or myself through those years, and was fortunate enough to leave that scene behind me many years ago (no, NOT the music, the other part!) When I stopped partying, those "friends" never bothered with me again. But through it all, I maintained high grades and got a professional medical career. Teens feel a sense of invulnerability. But, in fact...it's the most vulnerable time of one's life. Take good care of yourselves. :)

I actually have a lot of friends at school.. I don't look very different from the rest, I'm not wearing skatewear and a band shirt or something.. I just wear what I like (just regular, jeans and a shirt). All my friends are listening to R&B and bubblin' or something, and they think I listen to 'strange music' :)

I can't say I'm one of the most popular people at school. There's only one friend who listens to hardrock and things but she doesn't like symphony x... Some of my other friends only like R&B, trance and ugly music. The rest of the people don't like me, makes jokes and things. I don't care, I just like it to be different then others :).

I am seen as kinda weird in school I guess :)
But that's ok with me, I don't care about what most of them think of me. And they're still nice to me anyway. And there are other weird people there too, who like me.

I know I shunned trends, walked my own path, and cherished the few good friends I had. Does it make me a bad person? Frankly, I dont want the popularity. Popularity doesn't mean nearly as much to me as respect does.

No, no, no, no, no, I'm not popular, definitely not. But that's not because people doesn't like me, it's just because I'm a kind of "anti-social" guy. I prefer a lot to stay in my house, in the comfort of my couch, watching some TV, or in here, digging dozens of websites, answering and threading on forums, or just listening music, or doing my college works.

People try to approach me, but I don't want them to approach. I don't know, I think I hate people, agglomeration, excitement, excessive talk. I'm pretty sensible to all of this. Usually it gives me a headache.

I barely talk in the phone.

I have 2 or 3 close friends, but that's all. And that's because they like the same music as I do, and like the same movies as I, and stuff.

I was pretty much normal. Wasn't an outcast, wasn't a popular chick, I just did my own thing & had fun doin' it. Now, in elementary school, I was a total dork, but I guess I outgrew that..maybe when puberty hit.. ;)

Story of my life. Isn't it kinda freaky how much we have in common? :err:

I was the only metal head at my school. The first two years of high school sucked until the other kids realized I could play guitar well, then I started getting some respect from people, though I still didn't have many friends, just mostly acquaitences. My best friend was this other guitarist and we were considered the best in the school, tho he was more into jazz/rock/blues/whatever and I was and still am pretty much all shred/metal. I was a band geek too hahahaha, I played the timpani (I was the only one in the percussion section with a good enough ear to tune them, just goes to show how "skilled" everyone else was)

I'm normal, I don't have many enemies, but I only have a few real friends. I'm friendly with almost everyone in my school, but I really only hang out with a few kids. And out of those few kids, I only have lots of stuff in common with two of them.

Well, since my mother is a eacher at the same school many people know me and like me...
though I don't really know most of them :)
And a few guys hate me too but I don't like them very much either so... so what?

I've got a lot of friends but i dont think id ever be considered popular. I'm too quiet for other people my age...they're always talking..always.
