YT: Axe Fx - Über patch

Axe-FX has any kind of unique hardware that makes it impossible to have such a decent amp simulation in computer software format? Are they planning on making a VST version or something?

Supposedly they were working on a VST version but I think it's been postponed. The company (fractal) is working on some other unannounced products right now. Maybe an AxeFX2.

Thanks. Everytime I hear these awesome clips my wallet tickles, but it would be much better to me as a VST instead of outboard unit as I´m not playing gigs or anything. I would hate to buy an unit just to see a digital version next month.

As far as my net lurking has taken me, the VST is post-poned and a "effects-only" unit has been prototyped and being tested.

Can't wait to load this up when I get home - any more specific info on the cab/ir used?

sounds awesome man! cant wait to try it out. Really cool song too, reminds me a little of bloodbath!

Do you go do a lot of editing in the advanced amp panel on the axe?

Some editing, mostly with bias settings and damp/sag. Not to much with the rest.

I'm doing another patch with the Powerballsim I'll upload it this coming weekend!

BTW thanks Ansi!

Fantastic again man, funnily enough all of your tones sound reasonably similar and amazing. Such proof that good tone comes from the hands.

more like "Definitely one of the better Axe players I've heard, the Axe just aids the tone from the fingers a bit. Killer song as well."

Actually, I haven't been a great fan of Ola's earlier Axe FX tones either. I think they, too, have had that trademark djenty character that has been common with pretty much all the AxeFX clips I've heard. Sure, Ola is a fantastic player, but there's something about this tone that stands out from the rest of them in a positive way.

I think a VST version might be a bad decision business-wise, since it could easily be torrented, while a hardware unit has to be bought.

Not that I wouldn't be happy with a vst version... If it's reasonably priced that is =/
