Zeitgeist - The Movie!!!

This is what I was referring to when I said you have a polarized opinion of me, and that in any post, you'll seek to work in how much you hate me. Way to be!

I'm not being polarized by pointing out fact...?

That is like someone calling you "polarized" against them because you pointed out to them that they were wrong in saying that George Washington was the 5th president of the U.S.

Of course they are at least a little socialist.

Too many people in the world (or at least mainly in America) have been brainwashed to think that communism/socialism are such bad things. This is all so that everyone will support capitalism hands down, no questions asked. Marxist theory suggests that the next evolution in our society will eventually be communism, and this is a good thing not bad. Throughout history, all the leaders/dictators that had created such horrid communistic societies did not do it the right way. Karl Marx said it correctly himself. You cannot force communism on society through force and fear, rather it must come into society naturally (through the process that was theorized by Marx). Capitalism is not all bad and is even a requirement for communism to work. This is because capitalism must come first and is also doomed to eventually fail. There is only so much money to go around, and when (general estimate) only 20% of people control about 80% of the money through monopolization, there is a problem. The government keeps putting its hand in the economy all in hopes to keep capitalism afloat. American capitalism is built around the idea that everyone has the potential to get rich if they work hard enough, they have the right to "pursue happiness". So the 20% of people who have about 80% of the money are richer than any person needs to be while they keep themselves from feeling guilty all because they think that people who are poor just aren't working hard enough to live the American dream. This isn't true, they just got lucky by being able to get into the game early and taking advantage of the monopolization opportunities in their respective industries.

The main point is that all of these "horrible" communistic societies that have existed in history are nothing to go by in understanding communism/socialism. They only turned out so bad because their leaders tried to skip steps in the evolution process. You cannot ignore the process and force it on society.

I'm simply wrong. Wow, you sure are a smart one. The Dionysus comment referred to you saying you thought you knew who he was. Just thought so? Come on.

You need to re-read my posts or take some English classes because you're doing nothing but making huge blanket assumptions based on misinterperations of my comments. Ironic that you accuse me of being un-intelligent when you can't read in the first place.

I never said I "thought I knew who he was". I said "I believe" (which, in the context in my post is synonymous with the phrase "if I recall correctly"). I'm sorry I am not a religious encyclepedia. Either way, my recollection was correct and thus your statements prove nothing more than reactionary knee jerking.

Also, my Dionysus comment was an argument AGAINST the film. The fact you're actually arguing it is hilarious.

Yes you are wrong... IF (key word there... once again... R-E-A-D) you deny that religions have elements that parallel eachother. I'm not necessarily taking a shot at religion, but it's true. Look at all the modern religions that use water as a symbol of purity, for example. I'm not saying (necessarily anyway...) that different religions come from people who copy others' ideas, but I am saying that cultures (religion included) inately share elements with eachother. Now, whether or not this sharing is intentional is something I will not get into.

Ok...nvmnd...your right, they are greek gods, my mistake. They both also showed up in Roman mythology albeit they gave Dionysus a different name. Somehow I forgot they were apparent in Greek mythology as well. Either way, the whole Dionysus/Apollo duality thing is very true.

They're both Greek gods. Mars(Roman) is parallel to Apollo, I think. Rush made an 18 minute song about this, the battle of heart and mind, between Dionysus and Apollo called Hemispheres, on their Hemispheres album(1978) It is part 2 of the song Cygnus X-1, off the A Farewell to Kings album the year before.

Like I stated before, if you're not at or near the top....you're fucked. That goes for any form of government. Communism/Socialism ...definitely can build stability faster than Capitalism, but the problem is who is in charge...Stalin, Castro...you know the saying about absolute power...once these people, any country, any government, get to the top, you are so fucked in the end.

It is not just WHO the leaders are, but the fact that these leaders tried to force their respective societies into communism. They got ahead of themselves because good communism must come about naturally, with capitalism right before it. It is the foundations of capitalism that are needed before communism is done right. Capitalism will eventually fall (which it is already slowly starting to happen), and it will fall naturally because it is a broken system. There were a ton of devout Marx followers back in the 80's when Reagan became the president who actually voted for him. People would naturally wonder why such devoted Marx followers would support a president that was all for quickly pushing the economy forward. The reason they gave for voting for him was that the quicker he builds the economy, the quicker it will fall; in turn, the quicker communism will come about.

Mars was parallel to Ares, the god of war. Apollo was the same in both Greek and Roman; however, even though Dionysus was the same idea in both Greek and Roman mythologies, he was named Bacchus in Roman myth.

I told you he doesn't fully read peoples' posts...or rather he doesn't take into account everything that they say.

Perhaps this explains George W. Bush getting elected twice. Though that's certainly an awfully shitty means to an end.

I guess I'll just have to live up to this image you've created of me in your head, and just be the jerkbastage you think I am. I'll end every post with "and SXJ kisses cock" or something. You really should review 'fact' vs 'opinion' but you know, fuck it. I've come to realize that some people are just happy in their ignorance. So stay happy. :headbang:

Haha..well, ole' GWB certainly isn't worth it to me. He hasn't done anything with the economy except try and put his own hands into it so it doesn't mess up. I heard they were going to give people extra money in their tax returns just so they go out and spend and get the dow back up. Also, the screwing up he has done on practically every aspect of our country makes it not worth it by a landslide!

So you just realized you are happy huh?

Shit, I have such a fan club. You guys twins?

Wow... Ok either you have been defeated and you claim that myself and xjapan are on the same side when I didn't even comment to a single one of his posts as a way to get the last word in and refuel your e-ego, or you are so unintelligent that you couldn't read anything I've said this whole thread. Take your pick. Both really suck...

Wow, you guys are doing good without me.... let see if I can mess it all up...lol

From what I saw in the documentary they did say the story of Jesus mimicked many older stories, myths or sons of god. I had never heard any of this before but I have studied no Greek or Roman mythology. The Dec, 25 thing is amusing if anyone knows what I'm refering to.

It is interesting, from my understanding, that all modern cultures for many centuries have believed in one supreme being, including Native Americans at the time of European invasion.

Another thing I also found interesting, nearly 20 years ago when I read about many of the Native tribes at the time of Columbus. A few ancesters of these mostly long defunt tribes made a statement something along the lines of... they knew the old legends where stories that were to be used for guidance or reference to real life situations. As in "the moral of the story is". Where as the Europeans with the bible just took every last word way too seriously, living their entire lives worrying who foes to heaven and who goes to hell. I wish I still had that, so I could reference it to better express myself. There was also something in their legends that said they "came from the water". But who knows what that means, it could simply be ancient stories refering to the crossing of the Alutians. (excuse my spelling when I fuck up PLEASE!) All native American tribes were big on stories, and all stories had an underlying message. This is also how I view the bible, cause lets face it, the stories in that first testiment and many of the second are not of this world as we know it and I have a hard time believing any of it. I'd rather look at "the morals of the stories" and just try to be a decent person.

Preaching - hardcore believers preach because the bible tells them to bare witness and live only to serve the Lord, so that is what they do. Perhaps one of the largest problems with Christianity right there.

Politics/economics - What bothers me when people show negitive feelings for socialism or because someone states a view that can be referenced to socialism or communism is: it automatically means Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Castro, Nazi, fill in the wacko _____. So what happens is the ideas of socialism become tied to Dictatorship or totalitarian governments. To believe that because someone may want common people to stand together and demand their fair share for their contributions and less for the "all mighty's" make them supportive of wacko dictatorships is simply wrong. Hell, if you look at it, these "all mightys" in the capitolistic corporate world and their supportive governments/"law makers" are nothing but a bunch of fucking dictators anyhow. They decide what they are worth and how many bread crumbs they will allow to trickle down, just enough spred out to keep the hords at bay and completely distracted.

Hard to read.... Sorry!

Fellas... the world would be a better place if you just focused your energy on your views of the issues and not each other, becoming lost in a pointless distraction. [smiles, please and all that]
