Just got back from seeing this one. I enjoyed it quite a bit, the actors all really delivered. Had some very creepy and intense scenes. At 2 1/2 hours it was pretty lengthy though, so some might lose patience.

Other thoughts?

Depending on what you like about said genres, I'd say it's worth it. The only really graphic scenes are in the beginning during the murders, and after that it basically deals with the investigation and the effects it has on the lives of all those involved, especially the cartoonist as he's basically ruining his life trying to solve the case.

Very good movie, but if you're expecting a horror movie you'll be let down, after the brutal and graphic murder scenes at the beginning it focused more on the lives of the people involved in the investigation, and those working at the San Fran Chronicle at the time, Robert Downey Jr was exceptional as a drugged up boozer reporter.

If you guys notice in the very beginning, Jake Gyllenhaal drops off his son at a big brick building, which is actually Roosevelt Middle School about three blocks from my house. Just FYI.

The movie was pretty good. The second half got tedious.

I liked it, I like David Fincher and the way he moves the film around as a rule, though.

The No.23 is predictable, trashy and plain boring.

Cool, I really like David Fincher so I figured this would be decent.

Stay away from Number 23, it is a confused movie, is it supernatural? is is Horror? Is it psychological? It doesn't know.

Good acting in the film though.

Any of you excited about Sunshine?

Danny Boyle has never let me down, he's a wonderful director. He's teamed up with Alex Garland again (they wrote and directed 28 Days Later together) and I'm pretty sure this will be a great film.

Trainspotting, Millions, 28 Days Later, the Beach - they're all pretty awesome.

Garland's wrote the Halo script too, I'm just now realising.

The trailer for the Number 23 made it look like such shit. I was perfectly fine with the storyline, besides its ridiculous stupidity, until they started connecting the number 23 with the mark of the beast. That was when I knew that nothing good could possibly come out of the movie.

Besides... 2/3 is 0.6666666666666667 or something like that. Another reason the trailer put me off from the start :p

Speaking of bad movies, anyone see that over played trailer for the new James Wan movie, Dead Silence? Thats gonna be the worst movie of 2007, easily.

and they always whore out the "from the director of the Saw trilogy" part ... like that gives it the excuse to totally suck but still earn a fuckload of money.

That annoys the piss outta me. Director is somewhat fairer than "from roughly the same team that were partly involved in some not-too-bad movie a few years back"
