Angra and conception confirmed for prog power

Max was a middle aged dwarf dressed in a sharks costume who filled in for 'KIKO LOUREIRO' who was mysteriously taken ill with an ancient strain of the Bubonic plague, apparantly he caught it via drinking a can Dr Pepper he found next to a Nepalese tramp in central London who slept in his own...

The most underrated porg metal musician.

A guy I never hear mentioned is Ice Age guitarist 'Jimmy Pappas', his solo's are awe inspiring to me. Possibly also Andreas Lill of Vanden Plas to go with the magnificance of Gunter Werno Raffael Bittencourt - If the prog police let us class angra progressive Dirk Bruinenberg - superior to...

Angra and conception confirmed for prog power

I wasn't a fan of Angra until I saw them live a few weeks ago supporting Dragonforce in London. I came to the conclusion that Angra is the best band in the universe. They blew Dragonforce off the stage, Max and Rafaell are my new guitar hero's and Aquiles is the best power metal drummer...

Andromeda Extension Of The Wish (2cd limited editon)

II=I Takes a wee while to get into but once it sinks in you'll be glad you gave it the time. The grooves and odd time signitures are just amaizing, Thomas Lejon is most probably the best drummer in prog bar Mike Portnoy, the singer is ok bit doesn't seem to have the raw energy of the first...

    Neil Peart

It's a shame Hal doesn't drum for Ice Age anymore, I'm worried for their new direction because they are one of my favourite bands. As a drummer I must say I hate it when non-drummers say certain drummers are overrated, even Lars Ulrich is better than they could ever dream to be. Peart is...

    Congrats Michael Romeo.....

Yeah good for Mike, no recognition for Steve Rothery tho, the best soloist to ever grace a guitar.

    What is your favorite poem?

Great thread, 'I know you' was a prelude to modern society and Childe Roland was a classic epic by the master Browning. Words to live by: Rudyard Kipling If If If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when...

    Shadow Gallery

I like them but they get a lot of stick apparently due to the fact that the singer is not good enough to do live show, so say my vast contacts, hey some of us just have friends in high places! (stolen from other forum)

    ARC - Burn The Sun

One or two good songs but I found it mostly uninspiring, very hard rock orientated with little keyboard interplay and some very dodgy lyrics, it's been done and although technically the music is top notch the creativity falls a little short. I can see it's appeal it's just not for everyone.

Oh God! Did anyone see the new guitar world?

I think the list is a bit confused, firstly since when have Page and Lifeson been metal and secondly the guy from Black Sabbath was more of a riff meister than overall virtuoso and I think the list looks at this more. Surely anybody in the know would have the likes of Romeo, Laiho, Cohen and...
