Hi there!

I've been a member for awhile but mostly just been reading stuff, but now I decided that I'd need your help and opinions. I have recently tracked 2 demos, one of a death metal band and the other one somewhat melodic metal.

So I did roughmixes of one song from both:

Death metal: http://tinyurl.com/ya55t4s

Melodic metal: http://tinyurl.com/y8q2q9a

Guitars are just x30 since the 6505 I intented to use broke :erk: I hope I can get it fixed soon that I will be able to reamp those.

There may be some minor flaws (or major, would'nt surprise me) because I did those in a hurry. Just wanted to ask you guys if I'm even in the ballpark before starting serious mixing.. :)

Bumping a little, would be nice to get some feedback if only for that death metalish one. Bass is still only a DI and gotta quantize drums a little when I properly learn to do that in Reaper.. Also snare sample is starting to bug me, maybe try some different one. :D

Death metal: Guitar tone needs some sizzle imo. feels like there's a blanket on the "amp" atm.

Melodic metal: I prefer this guitar tone alot more. OHs are a bit loud in this one though.

Yup, gotta tweak the x30 sound more as it seems I will not be able to use the 6505.. Good point about the OHs, will fix that. What about the level of the vocals, do they sit at all?

Also have to reduce the "machine-guniness" in parts.. and and.. :D

+1...........dont like the snare on the melodic .....but i like the songs..get that tube amp fixed!

Thanks for the replies guys! I paid attention to the "blanket on the amp"-like sound on the guitars as I did this new mix:

Band seems to be very happy with it, as somewhat am I, but criticism is highly appreciated! :) Also I'd like to hear thoughts about the little "sub bass-thingy" in the end of the song, does it fuck up the mix badly?
