I'd like to ring in the new year with a poll. But not just any poll. The poll to end all polls.
After looking at the 8 Opeth CD's, I noticed that, with a little shifting around, Opeth has 64 songs.
In the US, every March, 64 college basketball teams square-off in a monthlong tournament called March Madness.
I propose we do the same with these 64 songs.
For now, I would like you to pick your top 8 Opeth songs. These will be the #1 and #2 seeds (there are 4 of each seed from 1 to 16). I will wait a week or so before tallying the results.
Then, I will list the overall rankings - 1 and 2 seeds picked by you, the rest by me. I will give the board one final chance to complain about my rankings.
Finally, we will begin the poll. Don't worry about the details now - I will make everything clear when the time comes. All you have to do is show up, vote for each matchup, and watch to see who wins.
