Best band
Porcupine Tree, for one great album, an okay EP, and for coming twice here on tour. Would be Farmakon, only they've gone and ruined it what with their drummer leaving. Silly sods.
Worst band
I don't listen to any bad ones more than once. I haven't heard any bad albums from this year, but only because I've only got ones I know I'll like while filling up on old progg. So possibly Amplifier, if only because I didn't like them all that much when they supported PT first time round. I'm delighted to say I haven't the foggiest who these Cowboy jobbies are that nearly everyone else mentioned.
Best album
Farmakon - Robin. Glorious, glorious stuff. Second is José González - In Our Nature. Cycling Trivialities, Teardrop, Down the Line... mmmmmmmmmmmm...

Best song
For all I've just raved about Farmakon and José González, the winner is Porcupine Tree's Anaesthetise which, in Steven Wilson's own words (or similar), is "a hot, sexy lump of prog rock. I never thought I'd ever place those words in one sentence, but there you go."

José González. Not only was he excellent, I was also exposed to the equal excellence of his support act, James Blackshaw.
Best live act
Ever, or 2007? In 2007, Isis were awesome. Shame one of their support bands was a bit naff which is why they aren't the best tour, but then again, their other support (Last of the Real Hardmen) was great. And if it's best live act ever, Iron Maiden. Duh. Didn't see them this year though.
Most over hyped band

Erm. James Blackshaw? Or maybe Monkey3.

Marston's Firestoker. Only had it once, but it's the best ale ever. Tastes of cherries at first, then the vanilla comes after swallowage. Never seen it for sale since, so it may have actually been made by faeries.
