2008 Presidential Candidates

another stupid comment

maybe people join a part because they... oh i dunno, agree with the majority of their principals? people vote along party lines because they generally agree with that party's stance on the issues.

I don't join a party because I'm not going to pigeonhole myself into a mindset that might change later. If I was, say, my dad's age, I could understand since his mindset isn't really going to change much (and probably didn't once he started making a lot of money). I'm 23, I'm not going to pigeonhole myself into one set (or the majority of one set) of views.

ok, but lets think about this for a second. the republican cantidate is gonna hold republican ideals. so if you generally agree with the republican ideals, theres a good chance you will agree with the cantidates ideals.

ofcourse its a little different in the primaries, but you know what i mean.

everyone should be involved in the process though. and everyone should know where they stand on the issues.

I would consider myself a libertarian if I had to label myself something (cookiecutter, shut the fuck up about your opinion on libertarianism, I couldn't give a shit less), but that doesn't mean I'm going to vote for the republican EVERY time (considering a Libertarian candidate won't really win, let's be honest). I'll probably vote Obama if he gets the nomination since I think he's the most honest of the candidates and none of the Republicans (except McCain, imo) know what the fuck they are doing.

yeah, im kinda stuck between republican and libertarian. i think the libertarian party is what the republican party would be without the crazy evangelicals harping on things like abortion. in any case, small government and lower taxes are the way to go

I think the democrats would have to do something really stupid to lose. All the Republican candidates are flawed and the Republicans have been ruining our country for 8 years

I hope that a Republican doesn't win your election guys. Democrats ftw

Kind of an ironic comparison when you consider that democrats are far more pro-democracy than the republicans seem to be, what with all the ignoring the constitution and scrambling for presidential power.

Reminds me of a certain party from late 1930's europe actually...

not in the case of libertarianism. left-wing authortarian types like Clinton want to turn this country into the USSR pt.2

1) John McCain
2) Rudy Giuliani
3) Chris Dodd

Surprised to see McCain there, since I've read he's really socially conservative - but I guess there weren't too many questions of that nature on the quiz.

Giuliani's the one I would actually vote for if I had the chance. He sounds like a pretty awesome guy.

ohiogrinder, you really need to shut the fuck up and stop wording things as if you actually have some knowledge to support to otherworldly humdrum bullshit that you spew on political topics.

Hillary has been working hard, especially in the past month, to attempt to separate herself from Bill's presidential legacy, to the point where she has said outright that she would dramatically change things that Clinton put in place that even Bush didn't change while he was in office. Hillary getting elected wouldn't be nearly as bad as Jeb Bush getting elected, as the Clintons are more well-rounded as individuals. The real problem between the Bush Sr/Bush Jr presidencies is that Bush Jr pulled so many of Bush Sr's old staff into the fray. When you have half of the people who worked in another administration, regardless of what that administration was, it's really not surprising that resemblances might shine through.

yeah, the dems want to turn this country into a socialist/communist state. well, thats a dramatization, but thats the way they lean. and they lean hard in that direction.

republicans on the other hand want to secure our country. both physically and financially
