2012 Metal Thread

I went all out and ordered the largest box for the upcoming Watain live release called Opus Diaboli. It includes the gig on dvd, 2 cds, 2 lps. The box also contains an exclusive t-shirt, flyers, photo book, posters and other shit. I'm stoked, cause Watain kicks ass.

how was the Alcest show Zod?
The show was cool, overall. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the the opening band most (blanking on their name). Kind of felt like Akercocke meets Isis. Cool stuff. Deafheaven was OK. They are what they are, which is to say they are unspectacular. Alcest was good, but kind of dull. Their songs just sort of run into one another, with not enough energy to sustain a live performance.

I seriously have no fucking clue how your mind works. You don't make any sense, ever.
Not sure how it works either... wish I did. That said, why does it surprise you I find those bands less than stellar? Is there a band you're thinking I like, that makes my comment surprising?

that's exactly the reaction i was expecting from you on both Deafheaven and Alcest. :loco:

who was the opening band? that Akercocke meets Isis comparison sounds intriguing.

I thought you'd like Mastodon a lot actually and at least enjoy HoF. Guess not.

I really like both "Crack the Sky" and "Snakes for the Divine". However, with both bands, their other works are very hit and miss for me.

If you like Crack the Skye, it's hard to imagine you not liking the new one too. It's the same style but more streamlined.
