2013 NHL Thread

Looks like 4 stadium games slated for next year. Unless its the Bs v Habs at Fenway for the Winter Classic...im not too crazy bout this stadium shit.

I doubt it will happen but there's a lot of talk in the Pittsburgh media about a Letang trade, which I would love to see. He's been a valuable asset to the team in the past and is a great player but as I've stated before I'm not exactly his biggest fan. He has a lot of offensive skill, skating ability and creativity on the PP but he can also make a lot of foolish and irresponsible plays that usually have disastrous results. Especially in critical situations, last year's playoff run had about a million of them.

His contract is also way too big and eats up a massive amount of cap space. I'm sorry but 7.25 million a year is too much for him. I know bigger contracts have been signed for worse players but when you have Crosby and Malkin both making 10 mil a year you can't afford to throw money around. The pens have a bunch of young defensive that could easily replace him anyways, he's not essential to the team anymore.

What a game today between the Caps-Wings

We lost, but damn! Nyquist exploded, Z was an absolute warrior...but god the defense outside of Kronwall and DeKeyser was horrible, and Howie looked REALLY off

Bs and Habs rumored to be 1 of the 4 stadium series slated for next year, held at Gillette Stadium. Not a huge fan of the stadium series, but this could be kind of cool i guess.

^Cool.

So Stamkos isn't headed to the Olympics he hasn't been cleared to play.

So now the big question is who takes his place.

My 3 choices would be Claude Giroux, Martin St. Louis, James Neal

If they are looking for a guy who can be a goal scorer to fill Stamkos spot, I'd go with Neal. If they are just going for all around ability and skill St. Louis is your guy. I like Giroux, but this year I don't know if he could help Canada at all.

It'll be interesting to see.
