Hour 16

"Tupac" Palmer is a little sore from getting shot, but he soon shakes it
off. He tells Pierce that he has a source inside the LA White House and it
is Evelyn, the aide to the First Lady.
Pierce & Tupac run into Vice President Gardner in the hallway, and come up with a great excuse for
Tupac's presence in the White House.
The VIce President, however, has no excuse for
why the White House was once in Washington DC, but has now be relocated to LA.

They catch up with Evelyn, and she says she has information, but she can't
give it up because Robocop has kidnapped her daughter.

Jack emerges from the flames of the natural gas refinery carrying Bierko
over his shoulder. He's toting him along as if he were the size of a 4 year
old kid, even though Bierko is bigger than Jack. Jack has Bierko sent down
to CTU clinic, probably not such a good idea given their recent track
record, but that is the only clinic in town after all.
The fact that the only 2 doctors they had there are dead now, doesn't seem to be a factor.

Almost everyone in 24 has the same, or nearly the same ring tone on their
cell phone.

Vice President orders Martha Stewart to complete the absorption of CTU into
Homeland Security.

Robocop is holed up in what looks like some sort of abandoned warehouse.
He's personally guarding Evelyn's daughter in case she talks. While 24 is
known for getting characters that are supposed to be related, but look
nothing alike (the Palmer brothers), they've got this one right.
Evelyn appears to be about 1/2, 1/2 Asian, and her daughter appears to be about 1/2, 1/2, 1/2, 1/2 Asian.
She also appears to be a reasonable age difference from her mom, as opposed to Jack and his daughter Kimmy who look about 10 years
apart.

Now it gets complicated. Martha Stewart and her sniveling sidekick are
firing everyone at CTU. They need Audrey to sign some paper alleging the
incompetence of Buchanan. Jack needs Chloe to find Robocop with the
Satellites. Audrey signs the paper throwing Buchanon under the bus in
exchange for letting Chloe stay on staff.

I'd just like to bring up a point. How realistic is it to fire an entire
operational staff and replace them immediately with new people? Can you
imagine if they told us on The Nevermore board that everyone had been fired down at the local Subway, and we needed to take over during lunch hour?
"sure, I've been to Subway, I know how its done"
We'd start with
something like..

Warrel Dane - cold cuts
neal - microwave
Karen - toaster
Will - register
Karmic - bread oven
Tiff - Manager
Souls Of Black - Condiments
Ms.Anthrope - Vegetables

We'd end up with a riot on our hands. How is it then that untrained people
can just step into CTU operations?

Where's Mike Novick when you need him???

Tupac decides he needs to see Jack, and they agree to meet at "an old barn"
near the White House in LA. Chloe finds Robocop with the Satellites and
Tupac tells Jack he wants to go on the mission.
Jack doesn't think he's qualified, but Jack has obviously never listned to "2pacalpse Now!" or "Thug Life".
Finally he agrees and Tupac draws his huge gangsta 44 and they are
out!

Robocop has 10 armed guards, but with the help of Chloe and the satellites,
Tupac & Jack pic them all off in about 2 mintues. Catching Robocop isn't so
easy, and he gets out of dodge in an SUV, but Jack is able to rescue the
kid. Finally, we learn who is behind the whole thing, it is President Logan
himself!!!
Shouldn't be to hard to convince him that terrorism is a bad idea. Just have
Jack yell at him and he will apologize for everything. First, it looks like
Jack will have to take on the whole US military. Should be a good fight. See
you next week, Logan!!!

Very nice Miss K, although I'd probably be manager/director of legal compliance of our Subway since we'd probably food poison half the town.

DAMNIT! There's no time! Tell me you're working with cheese!

wow. People actually do have nothing better to do with their lives, do they?

So while Tiff is figuring legalities... and playing with cheese.

Warrel is throwing cold cuts onto the ceiling...

Neal is trying to set the clock on the Microwave...hammering it with fists..

Karen is burning her hands on the toaster....

Will is pocketing the $$ from the registar...

Karmic is scrambling for the fire extinguisher for the bread over fire...

I'm squirting oil and vinegar over everyone...

And Ms A. is crying from the onions she cut up...

Subway is F*cked.......:heh:

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "24" star Kiefer Sutherland has inked a multifaceted deal with 20th Century Fox Television.

The rich pact, which is set to begin in June, calls for the actor to continue on the hit Fox drama for three more years and includes a two-year development deal for Sutherland's soon-to-be-launched production banner.

Details on the deal were sketchy, but sources pegged the acting portion alone at more than $40 million for the three seasons, which could make Sutherland the highest-paid actor in drama series.

While the deal with Sutherland locks him in for three additional years beyond the current fifth season of "24," the 20th TV/Imagine TV-produced show so far has been picked up for one additional season.

Under the pact, Sutherland also will be elevated from a co-executive producer to executive producer on "24" next season alongside Joel Surnow, Robert Cochran, Howard Gordon and Evan Katz.

The development portion of the deal is said to include overhead and a development fund for Sutherland's company. Sutherland will hire a development executive and will begin to develop and executive produce projects for television as well the Internet and wireless devices.

Sutherland called his past five years on the show "one of the most creative and rewarding experiences in my career."

In its fifth season, "24" is enjoying some of its best ratings and critical notices. The show, which introduced the now-hot serialized thriller genre, also has become a DVD best-seller and has spawned a mobile phone series.

Sutherland's performance on "24" has earned him a Golden Globe award and four Emmy nominations.

On the big screen, he next will be seen opposite Michael Douglas and Kim Basinger in "The Sentinel" and will provide the voice of the lion in Disney's "The Wild."

Hour 17

Jack checks into a Motel 6 with Tupac, Evelyn and the kid. You can't quite
see the Motel 6 sign, but you can tell what it is. Motel 6 must not be a
paying 24 sponsor like Chevy or Budweiser. Jack is about to perform surgery
on Evelyn's gunshot wound, but stops when she says she's OK.
Jack tells ½ ½ Asian Evelyn that the womb is not serious but it needs to be addressed.
I don’t know many gun shots that don’t need to be addressed.
Good call on that one JB!

Robocop, who's just escaped Jack & Tupac, is monitoring "all emergency
communications" in the greater LA area from his car, in case Evelyn calls in
to a hospital.

Pres orders Jack to be arrested, and a warrant appears on all of the
computers with that photo of Jack looking very uncomfortable in a suit.
CTU
can't find Jack because he's gone 'off grid'. Suddenly, VP Gardnener and
Martha Stewart are the good guys, clearly suspicious of the pres.

Logan's story that Cummings committed suicide to protect the real assassin,
Jack, makes no sense, even using 24 logic, but who really cares?
Lets think of something here… so Cummings actually worked for the terrorists,
THEN he committed suicide to protect his good name while working for the President of the USA
And all along the president is behind all this. So Cummings actually worked for
Uh… oh forget it, I’m confused already.

Jack and Tupac need to break into a bank to get a recording that implicates
the pres. So they kidnap a bank VP and tie up his wife with 4 neckties.

Audrey rolls out to call her dad, the secretary of defence who is flying around in a jet
near LA for no apparent reason. The homeland folks put a tracking device on
her car BUT

she finds is with Chloe's help and puts it on a truck to fool the Homeland
folks BUT

Homeland figures this out in 5 minutes and they are somehow still able to
track Audrey, just by tasking extra satellites.

I love watching 24 and have my military background knowledge to help
me understand how believable 24 is. Tracking devices on cars, will not work
Under metal and tracking someone by satellite with no receiver is as effective
As finding your ring you lost on the beach 3 years ago.
24 Is awesome!!

Jack , Tupac, and the bank dude break into the bank vault and get the secret
tape. Then bank VP realizes that he's seen Tupac before. He's not sure
where, but I'll bet that he must seen "Killumanati", "Still I Rise", or
maybe "If my Homie Calls" on Yo MTV Raps.

Evelyn's little girl calls 911 and one of Robocop's staffers intercepts the
call right away. I'm not sure how many folks work for Robocop, but it must
be a great deal, considering Jack & Tupac capped 10 of them last hour.
Robocop shows up at the Motel 6 in minutes although
He was somehow in the L.A area, and that is after all, a tiny place.
Robocop shoots all of the paramedics,
and finds out that Jack is at the bank.

Robocop has yet another one of his paramilatary teams surround the bank.
Jack realizes that their best hope is, your not going to believe this one,
to call the police!
Jack’s logic is brilliant. If the LAPD will show up- the bad guys surly engage
Them. Surly.

The LAPD rollers show up and get into a shootout with the bad guys. Jack and
Tupac sneak though the gunfire and in a gangsta move that would make any LA
Crip or Blood proud, drive off in a police cruiser. The poor bank VP takes a
bullet and dies.

Next week shows Heller coming to the rescue. Still 6 hours left so there is
at least one plot twist coming. Other notes...there is a new movie coming
out with Kiefer Sutherland playing Jack Bauer, except his name isn't Jack
Bauer, and Michael Douglas playing the president of the US.

Best news of the night though is that Fox has signed Jack up to the tune of
40 million for 3 more seasons of 24!!!! So cool to have something to look
forward to in 2010!

Yea, "The Sentinel" I think it is, aka "24 the Movie." I dont think I'll ever be able to watch a Keifer Sutherland movie (past or future) now without thinking of him as Jack Bauer.

You just know that Keifer is going to be the bad guy in this new movie, right? Here's hoping against Hollywood 'logic' that he's not a double-agent behind whatever nefarious plot is hatched. Oh, and if he somehow isn't a bad guy, that he doesn't die tragically as a plot device either in order to spur Michael Douglas into action.

From the commercials I saw I thought Michael Douglas played Jack's Robocop in the movie?

Good job as always DL.

One other observation, when Jack and Tupac go to get the bank VP, Jack notices that there is an alarm and produces a magnetic device to overcome it, just happened to have one of those in his pocket, or maybe his batbelt.
