ELDRITCH, all the way from Italy, has been confirmed to make another USA appearance at Ragnarokkkr Metal Apocalypse 2013. Their sound is a unique mixture of progressive metal with thrashy riffs, and A.O.R. melodies. ELDRITCH made their USA debut at Chicago Powerfest back in 2006, and their is made possible by the very generous sponsorship of Javier Gomez.

I think a smart move would be to capitalize on this booking with booking another prog band to bring in the prog power crowd. That's pretty much the market for this band. If anyone wants to start an Arch / Matheos campaign now is the time!

You don't give up, do you?

I'm sure you could.

I'd rather see bands that sing about metal, warriors, beer and motorcycles. Save the 20-minute technical epics for Atlanta.

Fine, as long as Atlanta happens. Plus I wasn't talking about PURE prog either. Give me a friggin' hand here, will ya? LOL stop "bookblocking me"!

Then start throwing out the IM bands who actually know who Saxon is. I think Benedictum would go over great with this crowd, as would Widow (of course I think everyone should like Widow).

Borealis toured with Saxon. :P
Benedictum is not an Intromental band, and to be quite honest, I don't think we'll ever book shows for them again.
Widow, yes, everyone will like Widow.

I still think to fit the festival, VIPER should be brought from Brazil. (yes. Matos. Yessss).

Sorry, I thought Benedictum was one of your bands. They'd still be a good fit, and I'd love to see them live.

Viper...pipe dream.

My friend just hosted/promoted their tour stop in Rio last week. Show was sold out (700 people) and their performance was phenomenal according to him. Sad indeed that we would never be able to see them on US soil :\

What? Arch Matheos would NOT be a fit but Eldritch would?
Sorry. But with this booking anything is indeed game.

I can see both sides of the argument, and I think it would work indeed.

Eldritch can have a lot more punch/speed/metal than Arch/Matheos. However, for a festival that strongly relies on "older-school" style bands, Arch/Matheos is a great fit regardless of it being a new project. Old school Fates fans would go nuts over it.

On top of it, I would like to see Ragnarokkr expanding more and more style-wise. I think the Eldritch booking is a step into that direction, though I'm curious as to who will be the headliner of the event...
