Went to Ozzfest yesterday...And it sucked really bad!!
I ended up with free tickets so I can't complain about money, But I want my time back!!!

The only bands worth seeing on the 2nd stage (Imo) were Full Blown Chaos and The Red Chord.. Both bands played great sets!! I know this is going to bum my buddy Oblivious Max out..But Strapping Young Lad SUCKED HORRIBLY!!! This was my 2nd time seeing them (1st was at SOTU last year..and they sucked then too)

Other bands that played well I thought were Unearth and BLS..

I don't even want to talk about the main stage...Every band except Hatebreed sucked BIG TIME!!! Dragonforce, I never heard of them until yesterday..And their gayer than Lance Bass doing Richard Simmons!! Pathetic!! Who they blew to get on the mainstage is a mystery to me!!

Ozzy's set was a joke too!! It could've been because of the heat (It was over a 100d) but I expected better from him.

I only went because the tickets were free..I don't believe they'll ever be a better Ozzfest than 2004....But hey, that's just me.
 
Yeah, there really isn't any band that I would like to see at Ozzfest. The Red Chord are pretty decent and so is BTBAM. I saw Full Blown Chaos open for Exodus and they were really good but nothing that I would buy. On a totally non metal subject, I'm going to see Ween tomorrow:headbang: .
 
Damn T Man you shoulda told me you were there, we could've hung out. And I agree, I was let down. I mean, half the second stage blew donkey balls. Atreyu? Come on! I thought SLY was alright, but it's hard to totaly destroy when you've only got 20 mintues to play. Zakk put on a good show. He always does. Main stage was so so. I like DragonForce (dont care how many people think they're gay, I think the new album is killer) but once again, too short a set list. Lacuna Coil was ok to look at Cristina. Hatebreed totally rocked. Sytem of a Down... meh! I cant stand the bands politics, but I think they make some decent music... just didnt turn out to be a good show. Ozzy is god, but he was much better with Sabbath the last time I saw him.

I can't stand Atreyu!!! So even if their set was great I wouldn't of known..
Hatebreed owned the main stage!!! There wasn't a better band on there all night (Ozzy included) A band I wasn't really sold on who impressed me pretty decent was Unearth....But FBC and The Red Chord slayed as far as I was concerned!! Both bands got the maximum out of their 20 mins.

Let me know when your going to be hitting shows and if we can meet up I'm cool with that...I'm probably going to see Throwdown Sept 1st at the Palladium.

Atreyu suck and always will. I only caught a glimpse of their set but just by looking at the cocksmokers you can tell from a mile away how much it's gonna suck.

I dont know when I'm hittin the Palladium next. I might head out to see Celtic Frost when they play. Other than that, the only show I'm interested in isnt until November (Fear Factory, Suffocation, Decapitated and Hyprosicy)
 
So Ozzfest getting crappier every year? I never saw SYL but I'd like to. I have the live DVD, sounds and looks fucking brutal to me! As far as Dragonforce goes, I only saw one videoclip on Youtube... I'm not very much into this power speed fantasy gay metal, but I have to admit that the lead guitarist (the Asian type) is pretty fucking fast! I'll always respect Ozzy only for the fact he still DOES a live show...I mean look at him you guys, how old he is and how much crap he has to put up with, that bitch and brats and all.

When I saw SYL live on their own, they were fucking harsh! So brutal. Musically speaking, DragonForce are amazing. They play so fucking fast. Ozzy will always have my respect. When I saw him (before this years Ozzfest) he could still go. And truth be told, he still can. It's just this years performance I saw wasnt that great.
 
I wouldn´t call 20 minutes of stage time a proper show. If that´s what Ozzfest provides for the second stage support bands and the audience then fuck Sharon with a big brown stick. Have half the number of bands and let them play twice as much, that way they can weed out all the gay-core bands. Oh, gay-core seems to be pretty big in the US. Otherwise Ozzfest wouldn´t have so many fruity bands on the bill.

MY favorite metal bands are Gyruss, Sinistar, and Tempest and oh yeah and one of my old school favorites is Pong.

I'm seeing a number of good shows at the Chance in Poughkeepsie. Eric Johnson August 24th, Michael Schenker Group in November and Metal Church in January.

I'm thinking of Testament (supposedly original line up) and maybe BLS at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ in October.
 
You say Red Chord was good and then Dragonforce sucked, you have no musical taste at all. Strapping YOung Lad is always brilliant. Unearth was good, All THat Remains was good. Dragonfroce, Unearth, SYL, and All THat Remains were the only good bands. Red CHord sounds like every other death/hardcore act. All Shall Perish is what The Red CHord wish they could sound like. Oh Full BLown Chaos is good too but thy flipped their bus the night before so they didnt make it.
 
Yeah, ok...You know, with your head so far up your ass you probably can't see anything anyway (Like the obvious fact that FBC played Mansfield)
And as far as musical taste goes...You probably can't hear too much of it either...Here's a thought for you...Pull your head out of your ass and open your eyes!!!! And if you still think that Dragonforce are anything but homos..Insert your cranium up one of their asses and take comfort knowing that you'll truly be home.

Theres seriously something wrong with you. FBC flipped their bus in New Mexico WHERE I LIVE and thats why i said they couldnt play, not mansfield or whatever it was. Oh and this last comment is by far one of the most idiot things i have ever seen typed in the history of man kind. City was a phenomenal album and just because you cant comprehend iit s not my problem. Oh and i like powermetal .. sue me. All Shall Perish is twenty times more talented than The Red Chord. Red Chord is second rate.
