God I hope I'm not alone in how much I love this stuff (I know RemoWilliams at least knows where I'm coming from :D) Favorites:

(yes, I know it's hilarious how all three of those start out with practically the same arpeggio, but at least they all turn into quite different but seriously awesome tunes when everything kicks in)

And then my man Paul Hertzog:

Seriously, listen starting at 1:20 in that last one, and tell me you don't just feel like a fucking hero on the top of a mountain or something. :kickass:

Anything else I'm missing? (other examples I'm familiar with are the Harold Faltermeyer stuff from Top Gun and Beverly Hills cop, and Alan Silvestri's more orchestral but still amazing stuff for Back to the Future, Predator, etc.)

Death Wish 3 (1985) is my favourite vigilante movie ever, and its soundtrack written by Jimmy Page is awesome.

The Warriors (1979) also has one of the most memorables soundtrack IMO.

Probably in my top 10 soundtracks of all time (from 1978, not 80s):

And then there's classics like:

I know it's not necessarily orchestra or instrumental, but when I think of cheesy 80's movie music, I instantly think of one of my all-time favorite 80's bmx movies, RAD!

:D

This is pretty much what I've been jamming for weeks  David Michael Frank and some Gary Chang. Doesn't get any better or cheesier. Stuff was my childhood.

Also

The synths! The drums!

How can you have a thread about cheesy 80's music in movies without even mentioning Flash Gordon/Queen soundtrack? :)

(I don't think it's the original version but it's even cheesier with this lead guitar work)

I´ts not from 80´s movie but fits the thread. Can´t tell how much i love this song. It was used on "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" though. The video is pure win;)

Some more Goldsmith goodness (Starts at 0.35)

Anyone knows why there´s so little rambo 2 music on YT?
