A Dialouge With the Stars

Yes, we've been to one recently :) And we learned why everyone's Zodiac sign is wrong ;) It's cause of the tumbling earth rotating-axis... so when you net time watch for some horoscope, you'd have to check the prior zodiac sign for your horoscope if I remember correctly :)

Astronomy is a great subject, there are many object in space that are really fascinating (Yeah... geeky, aint't it? :p), Pulsars, Neutron stars, etc.. Love this subject :)

And yes, Algol is a variable star, in fact, it even names one class of variable stars, if I rememeber right... damn, two months holidays and you forget almost everything :p Algol is some binary star system, and one of the "darker" component stars is sometimes darkening the main star, that's why it appears to send weaker light, thus it is variable... sorry, didn't mean to smartass...

Astronomy is just fascinating :) shows how little and unimportant we are for the whole thing, despite what we think ;) *done with the little bit allowed smart-assing, staying within FatherVics plotted rule* Hehe :p

Cheers!

@AnsuzAstral: don't listen to this Melon :p
I can't speak for everybody but i'm sure we all cherish and appreciate wisdom and knowledge. Don't apologize for making us smarter ;)

Even though i think Astronomy is fascinating indeed, i still prefer the romantic side of star-gazing. I prefer to think of the sky as Lady Nuit, as a dark blanket spotted with little lights or as the shinning souls of the dead instead of a concentration of gases, electrically charged particles, rocks, etc. (pardon my non-scientific concepts ;) )

I love the romantic side of it !!!

@Morgana: I dunno if I'm wrong with that statement, could be, or maybe that atronome just wanted to tell us something spectacular. I'm no expert on horoscopes either, as I don't believe very much in what they tell. Anyway he showed us that the zodiac sign under which a person is born nowadays is not the zodiac sign that is "given" to the person, mostly anyways, that depends on when one is born in the duration of a zodiac sign. If it's at a later time of the duration of a zodiac sign it's likely that he's indeed born under the sign given to him.

I don't know too much about the Zodiacs, but I think it's quite interesting. And I do believe there's truth in it; it's just that the horoscope that one can read in magazines are too general. Of course, a person born 19th of March 1937 won't experience the same things as a person born the 19th of March 1993. But if you find the exact horoscope; the one that is only yours, from where you were born, date, day and exct time a day, it'll be different. In addition to that, I think the moon signs tells much more about a person than the sun signs, becasue it tells about what the person really is like. I found my own and read what it said about me, and most of it were quite true!

And that is very interesting, I think. If the sun, the moon, stars and all the planets do indeed affect us, then how? And how is it possible to see things about persons in them?

Hmmm, I never tried out abour moon signs... I heard about those horoscopes that are done on the birth of a person, I mean, read some extracts about it. Never tried that out myself, tho. I was reffering to the common newspaper horoscope.

And, we don't know in what way stellar/cosmic events affect us. Perhaps they do, and if they do there is surely a physical explanation as well to that, just that the human mind isn't that well developed to understand... yet :)

I dunno who said in the first place what constellation has which effect, does anyone know that? It surely is rooted in mythology as well, most of the ancient cultures had a certain fascination for the stars and planets.

I wish I could find out the time of my birth... it's a mysterious thing, I have the name of my dead sister and my mum lost all details about my birth, all papers etc... very strange that only my stuff got lost, not of my brother and sisters...
My birth certification I can get from the townhall does not tell a time.... my mum can't tell me a time...

I find asian horoscopes very interesting, read mine and it's very true :)

I am a horse with the element fire

Your dad to?! Oh, Morgana, that's so.... I don't know what to say... You must be a strong person! I guess it won't comfort you, but you do have my sympathy. I have a friend who lost her father, so I've seen what it can do to a person....

damn, is there any academy where someone is taught to be that way morgana???
I know I'd died if my dad had died from my 10 to my 18, but I mean REALLY DIE, now obviously I would feel devastated, but still I would go one, but I wouldn't then!
I'm really sorry...
