Danney Carey is probably one of the top ten drummers of all time. Listen to songs like Eulogy for example. every single extremity of his body is playing a different time signature. When I saw them in concert two years ago I saw them play that and it was a mind fuck. While its true the other musicians arent exactly fabulous, Tool is worth listening to simply for Danney Carey. Ill agree on Tool not being deep. Anyone with common logistical knowledge can understand the "messages" behind their songs. Whats funny is that the members of Tool are really pretty normal guys. Maynard and Adam are pretty quite usually, Danney is like gigantour and talks alot. The two times I met them, none of them came across as "artsy fag art whatever"
