Hello all,

I am really looking forward to the next announcements for PPVIII. I am going to take a stab at the last 3 bands I think might be playing at PPVIII.

Friday 4th Slot - Brainstorm

Sat 4th Slot - Pagan's Mind

Sat 5th Slot - Symphony X

What do you think?

Thanks,

Brand

I doubt Symphony X. Glenn said he's got coheadliners for Sat night and I believe Symphony X, while not caring for them myself, would be considered a flat out headliner.
Also looks to be way too many returning bands with the addition of those 3.
I'm also at a loss for who to guess. I'd probably say After Forever on Friday 4th slot, Brainstorm and someone else who has yet to grace the PP stage getting the coheadlining slots on Saturday.

Your guesses would be my wishlist for the last 3 remaining bands! Would absolutely love to see that happen! I think Brainstorm and PM have a really good chance of landing those spots but not so sure about SymX although it would be very nice. Also the deal with the co-headliners on Sat has really got me curios.

I say Friday #4 slot BRIANSTORM or PRETTY MAIDS

Sat #4 PAGAN'S MIND #5 AFTER FOREVER

Or you could rearrange these into any order you want but i think PRETTY MAIDS is in the mix somewhere and so is BRAINSTORM.

Seems like alot of confidence from ppl in Brainstorm..I really hope you are all right.

It's a reasonable guess at a returning band since they've only played the US twice now, both times being in 2004. From what I heard, a lot of people loved their set and it could be considered "creating" a headliner from the US perspective where some people might question the worthiness of the slot (and Glenn did say there would likely be that reaction for one of the headliners). Thus far the only real objection to Sonata Arctica was a troll fanboy of another band and the occasional person who just doesn't like the band (and you can never make everyone happy).

That original poster's list is great, but too many repeats. And we already have two. At most, we'll get one more, probably the Saturday headliner, which I'm guessing will be Brainstorm.

As for the other two #4s:

Friday: Masterplan(decent buzz about the new album even without Jorn)
Saturday: Iron Savior

I agree, too many repeats. I'd be surprised if there are anymore repeats, but I think one more :cough:Pagan's Mind:cough: is possible. My guess from names thrown around is Primal Fear. They seem like a good fit for one of the co-headliner spots on Sat. After Forever also seems to have good support for one of the remaining spots. Brainstorm has had some buzz around here but I still think there aren't going to be anymore repeats.

I would like to see the final three sposts chosen from the following:
Pagan's Mind
Symphorce
Silent Force
Primal Fear
Masterplan

And I hope they're wrong. I know some people like them, and that's great for them, but I'd put them in my least 5 favorite bands from all 7 previous ProgPower's, so I'm hoping for something I'll like...or at least something *new *to the festival.

Craig

That's understandable, I still hope Brainstorm is there but I'll be happy just being able to attend my first ever PP.

It doesn't "help" per se, but I'll suggest Labyrinth, Demons and Wizards, or Masterplan for the last spot on Saturday night.

If you want a "true" headliner, just get Helloween over here. Yeah they've been here before, but they're awesome and they're the kings of power metal as far as I'm concerned.

If it helps with your guesses, I still do not know who will fill in the Saturday #5 slot yet.

LOL - how is that gonna help us :) Just for that I am holding off on the gift I was gonna send you to kick back with and unwind with after you are done at least getting everything signed/sealed & delivered (if not announced) :)

I swear sometimes I wonder if Glenn doesnt enjoy tormenting us a little too much :) I think he may have a little Hannibal Lecter in him ;-)
