Well I went to see them yesterday.

I hated the show completely unfortunately. It wasn't their fault though. The palladium downstairs is one of the worst venues for acoustics and all you could hear was the vocals and drums...

What was worse though was the inordinate number of fags dancing hardcore in the "pit". Everything from a drunken skinhead to a 16 year old weekend warrior giving his preppy girlfriend piggyback rides. I arrived for AA and left right after.

I am just wondering if anyone went to this show also...

I think that for now on I will only go to shows in connecticut or rhode island as usually you can watch the band instead of having to contend with a bunch of 16 year old hardcore fags doing the donkey kong dance.

All I can say is I relate with you and feel your pain.

Just last night I was watching so called "Headbanger's Ball" and guess what videos they had. All hardcore by the bands I never really heard of before, well now I have (Hatebreed, Madball and some other Shitballs). Oh yeah, of course they also played videos by Arch Enemy and Slayer which they seem to be playing every week. I guess their video collection consists of same 20 fucking videos they play every week or perhaps the other record labels aren't forking out enough money for their videos to be played. At least there was some variety in the old days of Headbanger's Ball in the early 90s when they actually played "metal" videos. I didn't mind watching Biohazard vidoe as it was soon followed by Entomobed, Obituary or Death video. Anyhow, as I've mentioned before metal and videos don't go together. I tired watching this Hardcorebanger's Ball but that was it. I hope they drop it or rename it ASAP or better yet just let MTV go to it's regular programing (rap, pop, r&b & some classic show about people's houses)

Wow, and I thought this kind of shit only happened in Tampa ..... welcome aboard. I always wodnered why most people in the pit have to remove their shirt and walk in a "i am looking tough" type of way. I am fine with headbanging and will leave the mosh to Slayer fans and HC kids.

Well it is fucking amazing what can pass for metal these days. I have seen slipknot kids talk about how metal slipknot is, shit like that. What is even more sad is the fact that bands like Marduk have been getting hugely popular with the shorthair weekend warrior set.

As far as hardcore kids, most of the time you can just kick them. They are mostly just show. That is all I did last night.

Every time I go to a show in CT or RI it is kind of depressing since there are usually hardly any people there so I feel bad for the bands but shit it is better to go to a show where you can enjoy the band in a small venue with better acoustics and avoid the hardcore fags all together.

i was at poughkeepsie and worcester. very fun. what can i say but...

Did you find the acoustics at the Worcester show terrible or was it just me? I have always been dissapointed with the place. Upstairs seems fine. Downstairs is set up for plays and has too high ceilings for any type of loud music.

I suppose headbanging is more of a european form of expression where in the states it's moshing. I don't mind some moshing but when some bowld headed fuckers, rednecks or 300 lbs giants start using their elbows, steel toe boots and 100 yard dashes during the process that's when I'm out. I'm not there to get injured or killed, I'm there to have fun. Besides, usualy those that are moshing don't even know what band is playing at the time. They're there to piss me off. One day....one day, and that day is coming, I will go medieval on one of those .........., I can't even come up with a name. Damn, I hate them.

I was there. The sound didn't seem too bad to me, but I totally agree about the pit. Fucking asswipes flinging themselves around like they're trying to beat up everyone in sight... just shoot the fuckers already and let the rest of us enjoy the damn show. I hate being up close to the stage and having to pay more attention to the pit so I don't get knocked on my ass then the band.

i was there from goatwhore to halfway through kreator's set. the sound was horrible throughout the show. when there were two guitars on stage, only one was somewhat audible. and the stupid slamdancing bald guy annoyed me.

I was there too, but I don't have quite the same negative feedback. I was dead center on the floor for most of the night, and I didn't think the sound was perfect but it wasn't that terrible either. The pit is a different issue, sometimes it was OK (seemed better during some parts of Kreator)... There were definately some fuckers who had no damn clue what they were doing (Combo Breakdance/Rockette moves just don't do it for me...)

I noticed as I pulled back or to the side of the venue the sound deteriorated, but the center seemed to be balanced in sound (although, I confess that AA's guitars were not balanced). Kreator sounded pretty good, at least comparatively.

Nile really had issues with their sound, the band actually said (after the show) that the monitors weren't working right at all... Very short set from them as well, which was probably caused by agitation at the sound.

Later.

LOL at that, I remember seeing Nile on their first European tour in Hellgium in 98 and their computer went down and they looked all lost. Guess if they don't have them computers their music sounds different.

Their new stuff live already sounds like a big cacophony of noise, the cd's are much better. I can only withstand Nile's older songs when they play live, they didn't have all the samples they use now.

I was there, I was the guy in the trenchcoat and the nightside t shirt. I enjoyed all the bands, it was a good show. Remember the nazi skin hugging everyone? That was the happiest nazi I've ever seen...

yeah, i can see your points of view, but don't bag the short haired people, i had my hair half way down my back but my work and school made me cut it off basically, i would have lost my job because they thought it was unexceptable having hair like that, even though it was just straight normal hair. and my school said i can't have it like that and no male can haha, it was fucking ridiculous, i saved the hassel and just cut it off, i'll grow it back eventually, took me 2 years to grow it like that though, actually more like 3, since year 8, so that was a cunt. If i end up going to M4TB or seeing D666 live, it'll be weird becaue i won't have my long hair to head bang with! haha.

hello snow_like_ash! was fun meeting you the other night at StFU. even though im old enough to be your mother (jk), we can still chill at the next show. :p

Sound at the Palladium ranges from woo-hoo to WTG, at least downstairs. It's not just where you stand, but when. Something always seems to get lost in the mix. Honestly though... I save my detailed listening for home with headphones.
As for the "pit," welcome to a show in Massachusetts. We're cursed with a rather large emo/HxC population. I learned to ignore people there first time I went and just do my thing.
