Ive actually wondered if Anders was to leave the group, would In Flames continue in the same vein theyve been going....somehow I think they wouldnt, but regardless, no way to know for sure so no point in losing sleep over it.

I want Passenger to be a huge success, so that Anders will leave In Flames to fully concentrate on Passenger. That would rule!

It really doesn't matter who's idea was it for style change, because what happened, happened. Not that I'm making any definite assumptions, but the HOPEFULLY temporary style change was a goal to make money.

Because the focus now is on vocal melody and catchy choruses and I dont see that trend dying out, so I think if Anders left and they got a real growler or something....music might go back to complimenting harash vocals instead of working around catchy choruses.

Jesper said out of anyone, he's only comfotable playing guitar with Bjorn, though...which might be irrvelent, but it could also depend on the combination. I never really gave thought how the band would change if Anders would leave, but it's a reasonable prediction. The band could possibly be better off.

I don't think the rest of In Flames would take pressure from one one other member to change their music drastically. It's not because of Anders or Bjorn. I liked Clayman, and Reroute to Remain was decent, while Coloy was a rough transition. I'm waiting for their next all new album before I make judgements.

I agree.. he may have influenced their decision for going in the R2R direction, but in the end the whole band did it, they could have just told Anders to fuck off if they didn't like the idea.. well all we can do is hope that they go back to their old ways, but I highly doubt it, ah well.

well Bjorn didn't play GUITAR until whoracle right? And after Jester Race when he was playing guitar they slowly started declining.. correct if I'm wrong but he just played drums on jester race and nothing before that.

Bjorn switched to guitar on Colony, he played drums on Whoracle and was a what...session drummer during TJR.

If Anders vocals on Passenger are any indication of how he'll be singing for In Flames in the future, I'm deathly afraid. I've heard most of the Passenger album, and his vocals are definately not good.
