Agalloch Tour - at long last

I think I've pretty much given up on L'amours. It's bad enough driving an hour and a half to a complete shit hole. However, waiting until 1:00AM for the headliner to drag their exhausted asses on to the stage is absurd. Getting home at 4:30AM isn't all that much fun either. I think I'll only return to L'amours if a band I really, really want to see is playing there, no where else, and has no plans on doing a second leg.

The Trocadero kicks ass. Doors open at 7:00PM. First band on at 7:30PM. 20 minutes between bands. I don't have to sit through five crap local bands (ala L'amours). The headliner is done by 11PM, which leaves the wife and I enough time to hit a strip bar before heading home.

Yeah, L'amours sucks.

The Troc isn't really an option for we NYC'ers there bub. :) I dislike L'amours as well, but at least it'll be easy to get my gear in there.

Hehehe. Mark, during those key sombre moments for Agalloch, I promise I'll try not to make you laugh into the microphone. :loco:

Or perhaps when they take to the stage with their Japanese drums of war, I'll shout "Erik is gay" into the mic, where he will become forever immortalized in that one and only bootleg. :heh:

I promise I won't laugh...but the "Erik is gay" thing is an excellent idea.

I want a copy of that.

OK just trying to determine the set list for Agalloch. Can anyone help here? Based on live reports from their previous west coast tour, they included:

A Celebration for the Death of Man...
In the Shadow of our Pale Companion
The Melancholy Spirit
The Hawthorne Passage

And apparently, based on discussions with the band, they will include The Lodge in this upcoming tour.

It was mentioned briefly in another thread. Further details on this limited engagement.

"Agalloch have scheduled two Midwest headlining shows with our friends Subarachnoid Space (psychedelic space rock) and Velnias (atavistic dark metal) in September. They are as follows:

Fri, September 11 - Milwaukee, WI @ The Miramar Theater
With Subarachnoid Space, OvO, and Velnias

Sat, September 12 - Chicago, IL @ Reggies
With Subarachnoid Space, Indian, and Velnias

This will be the first time Agalloch has ever played in Milwaukee or Chicago and the first time we've played in the Midwest since 2004. Expect two very special 70+ min performances.

We will also be selling a very special shirt at these gigs with artwork courtesy of Fursy Tessier (Les Discrets/Amesouers).

Lastly, Eisenwald (Germany) will be releasing a 12" picture disc of our "From Which Of This Oak" demo in September. We hope to have copies of this cult vinyl available for these gigs.

Join us."

Any of you bastids going to Fall Into Darkness? The L.A contingent will be there with ale in hand. It appears as if Dr. Pierre is also a lock.
