Airports/Airplanes

Totally agree about Charles de Gaulle airport being the worst. It was a horrible experience flying out of there.

I fly pretty often from Boston to Toronto so I've got to know both airports pretty well. Unfortunately the main Toronto airport is a little out of the way for me because I don't have a car, so the most recent time I made this trip I flew from the downtown airport which is located on Toronto island. Very nice small airport that runs very smoothly.

I had a horrible experience coming back from Florida. The holiday was one of the best I've ever had but the return journey was soul destroying. Somehow, we managed to go to the wrong airport, but by the time we realised, we had already returned our hire car. We then had to pay to get a taxi to the right airport. By that time we thought we were alright. The flight was nothing special, nine hours of boredom and mediocre films. Then the pilot happily announces that the plane has been redirected from Manchester to Birmingham. The worst part was that it was almost redirected to Glasgow, which would have actually been fine for us because we were going to Edinburgh. So we were stuck in the wrong airport at about five in the morning without any of our luggage. It took them until about nine to get a bus to take us to the right airport where we then had to take two trains to get back home. All this time I had the worst jet lag I have ever had. By the time we got to Waverly Station, I felt like death.

I hate British Airways.

I also love airports, the excitement of travel, checking in my bags and everything that comes with it.

I never really had a bad airline experience though. I know what I pay for so its alright. All my flights have been on or almost on time with a couple of exceptions.

I was going back home to Stockholm flying by way of Copenhagen. First the flight from Birmingham was hours and hours late because of a snow storm in Denmark. Once I got on the plane and it landed in Copenhagen I got word that all flights from that airport were cancelled. Luckily I flew with SAS so I went to their information and I got tis bag with all the necessary stuff (toothbrush, shampoo, a clean t-shirt etc) and I got a free ride to a hotel nearby and a free dinner and free room for the night. The rescheduling of my flight was all free as well.

So it probably took me 24 hours to get home (should have taken about 4) but even if it wasnt fun to not get home the customer service was excellent and I spend a good evening/night at a nice hotel in Copenhagen.

I love flying the airport experiences etc. Never really had any major problems like getting stuck on a tarmac or anything like that.

Flying to places is awesome. You're in the air with plenty of time to just kick back and listen to music and read. Throw in a bag of M&Ms with a pepsi and it's a good fucking time . The last time I traveled by air this one flight attendant was hot as hell and she smelled like laughing gas for some reason. I was disapointed that I could not find any porn with someone that looked like her  .

Laughing gas eh? That's an interesting one.

I flew AirBerlin from New York JFK to Dusseldorf over the summer and they had hot straight male flight attendants, what's with that?! Liked them, sexy decor for a budget airline.

Security doesn't bother me much but then again no one ever suspects short Asian females of being terrorists and I've never been picked for extra searching. I do get angry every time though, taking your shoes off is a huge pain and I always try to just bring one suitcase as carryon, wear a lot of layers and travel with my laptop - so I end up having 5 of those little baskets full of my stuff.

Japanese domestic flight security is great, you walk through the metal detector with your coat and shoes on. They are very strict about lighters though - you're only allowed to bring one on board. Makes little sense considering how much damage could be done with one lighter, but I'm not complaining.

Air France - Bunch of annoying, discriminating, racist fucktards. They serve such bad food AND you have to go through old ugly French flight attendants whining and grumbling all the time.

Ha! I'm sure I'll be checked extra on certain occaisons, those idiots will suspect me of being some extremist. But on the other hand, I'm short, that's barely intimidating.

Hahaha! Are you even Muslim?

My one Air France experience involved annoying bitchy yet hot flight attendants, domestic from Nice/Cote d'Azure to Paris CDG.

I once wrote a short pamphlet of various stereotypes of people. One was the intellectual Indian guy who gets sick of being profiled at airports and purposely grows a huge beard and wears Arab-style scarves on his head just to scare people.

I'm not religious one bit, but I'm a trve Vedic Pagan. I'm quitel lame, hence my screen name = actual name.

That was kinda a reference to Harold & Kumar, the retarded stereotyping bit.

Virtually all the German women I've seen working in airports are incredibly hot.

somebody mentioned the clusterfuck that is london heathrow, and I couldn't agree more. the one time I went to London, Heathrow was just a fucking madhouse. It made LAX look like a fucking walk in the park

Best airport = Long Beach Airport. Seriously, everybody that works there is contracted and really doesn't give two shits. It's super tiny too. You walk in, get on the plane, and gtfo

Only in Scandinavia would a snowstorm cancelling all flights be that nice and efficient.

My dad is white (Italian-American) but he used to have a mustache and he would always get stopped in London Heathrow because he looked too "ethnic".

I took for 2 personnal trips and probably close to 10 for work. I'm taking the plane on Monday actually and getting back Thursday. Hopefully I won't have any horror stories on my return. So far I've been rather lucky except for one occasion where my luggage actually arrived at the destination 2 days after me.

been there. I remember when you could fly into Lake Tahoe. that airport almost made Long Beach look busy. It was convenient though because half of my family lives in Lake tahoe.

where are you going, srontgorrth?
