Airports/Airplanes

Lake tahoe.
From what I remember, that's a ridiculously picturesque place.

Fuck airplanes! Trains ftw!;)
You're European, so shut it. And trains aren't so cool if there's no space.

been there. I remember when you could fly into Lake Tahoe. that airport almost made Long Beach look busy. It was convenient though because half of my family lives in Lake tahoe.

where are you going, srontgorrth?

I went back to Vegas. Flew to Reno yesterday morning for the State finals of the We The People competition in Carson City, hung around etc, then had the competition earlier today. Didn't win, but my group did pretty damn well.

Vilden, if I'm not mistaken, is a train driver (engineer, operator?) so he's naturally biased

I hate flying. Being trapped in a stuffy, cramped metal tube for 14 hours with terrible food, children screaming and fat people generally getting in my way and making noise is my idea of hell.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be no such thing as a safety regulation in India?

I once flew to Perth from Launceston with an ounce of buds down my dacks, managed to get past pesky sniffer dogs by, at one time going into the fetal position,at others going to mcdonalds, pure genius on my behalf...another time i did the same...same evasive tactics, this time with more potent, shall we say, remedies, but this time in my shoe!!

That's just a ridiculously exaggerated example. But for most of the part there's a complete disregard for rules and regulations. And I've never seen something like that in person.

48 hours of flight time from Incheon to honolulu to atlanta to buffalo, took fucking forever..9hr layover in hawaii, had to wait about 12 hrs in incheon airport, just awesome

Vilden what do they call train lovers in Sweden? In English they're "railfans" and in Japanese they're "densha otaku" 電車オタク

In the drivers seat there are usually enough space. ;)

You drive one of those X2000s or Oresundtrains?
I remember taking one of the Eurocity trains to Copenhagen which was supposed to continue to Malmo and my seat was located very close to the driver's cabin[cockpit?] . I was a kid so they let me in and that looked kvlt as fuck. Not to mention, the lucky old man had a constant barrage of hot Scandinavian women staff entertaining him.

hahaha Ananth you should go to uni in USA, American girls are MUCH easier than British girls. And if you go to school in Minnesota or the Midwest most of the women will be of northern European/Germanic descent. Just saying.

We usually call them "tågnördar" if you talk about multiples.

Lol I would NEVER drive X2, more sucky trains you have to search long and hard for. :) Öresundstågen are pretty good, but I hate commutertrains so I would never drive them either, I drive cargo-trains so I don't have to deal with people. ;) Like this:

Wow, that seems like quite the dream job, getting to see stuff like that. How's the pay?
Though X2 seems fun with a good look of the surrounding at ultra high speeds!

Hey Vilden what do you think about Japanese trains? the new "Sonic/Kamome" limited express ones for JR Kyushu are awesome IMO

Driving trains through nature is fucking awesome, must be a nice job Vilden. I love trains and boats and cars, but trains are really something heavily romantic. 80 percent of czech country songs are about trains or mention trains in the lyrics.
