Albums currently kicking your ass

I don't see how you could describe traditional doom metal as remember Black Sabbath. I figured we were both being hyperbolic, do you actually think Saint Vitus, Trouble, Candlemass, Pentagram etc are mere Black Sabbath clones?

Riffs

"hey remember Black Sabbath?" >>>>>>> "hey i forget, what's a 'riff' again?"

Well, you weren't around back in the early 90's, or were still in preschool at the very most. Those death-doom bands weren't able to consult you as the sole arbitrator of what is or isn't worthy of being considered a riff. They just had to make do with conventional logic, which is how they, along with their listeners, mistook so many of the guitar parts they wrote for riffs.

Fair enough, we can't all like everything.
I just think your characterization of traditional doom metal is rather unfair if you're not being hyperbolic. If anything hey remember Black Sabbath is something stoner doom is much more guilty of.

Usually I don't like it when vidya tries making metal music because they habit of doing the exact same couple songs over and over, but this soundtrack does it pretty well. A good example of actual metal riffs in contrast to down-tuned Sisters of Mercy riffs with acoustic parts and keyboards interspersed found in 90s doom/death.
