Many fans still consider it their best, I disagree but the entire first movement (in perfect symmetry, I think it's much better than the second half, while on Sparks I think exactly the opposite) is spellbinding and goes through the same enormous emotional range as the follow-up album. Enough to convince me that calling Golevka the best post-rock ever is highly premature, as awesome as that album is.

My thoughts a couple weeks ago, like "c'mon, don't go too hastily marble-dick on that one, give it some time to unfold"...

Besides, it's not like you can match up ASMZ and TER against one another. They're both post-rock of an incredibly high level. But when it comes to the desert island issues, I'd take "Golevka" above any Silver Mountain Godspeed there is, regardless of its lesser originality.

CD Featuring: (note 1 track is only on LP version) DER ARBEITER (Chile), GRAUMAHD (Austria), O PARADIS (Spain), WALDTEUFEL (USA), ERDGEIST (Finland), WERKRAUM (Germany), CAWATANA (Hungary), LADY MORPHIA (England), TURBUND STURMWERK (Germany), BLOOD AXIS (US), ALLERSEELEN (Austria), STURMPERCHT (Austria), SANGRE CAVALLUM (Portugal), BELBORN (Germany), CIRCE (Spain), RIHARC SMILES (Austria), DER FEUERKREINER (Italy), Shining Vril (Australia) (Only on 2 LP version) This anthology, published at winter solstice MMIII, was edited by Gerhard. Working on it was an adventurous challenge. All the songs on this release have the same lyrics as all the participants were asked to use create music for just one poem - the hymn Michelsgebet or Wir rufen Deine Wölfe written by the German poet and philosopher Friedrich Hielscher. Geri and Freki, the wolves of Odin, took care and control of this magical mystery tour into the Heimliches Deutschland of Friedrich Hielscher. The artwork was inspired by the interior of various Norwegian stave churches.

been listening to this a lot over the past several months. i think MAX FUCKING JOHNSON (that's what i think when i see mfj, sorry) said it ruled and cthulufaggathon said it sucked. pay up, cthulu. :loco:

I may be a huge Corgan fanboy, but I'd have to say this is probably his worst work to date, in my opinion it started going down after Adore, which is obviously the pinnacle of music everywhere. I recommended it to you many eons ago, I hope you have listened to it some, if not then find some now. NOW!

And no, I am far too lazy to post Mp3's, I am still on dailup.

well maybe its not that bad, who knows, but I sure think it sucks

imo its all been downhill since Siamese Dream (which is one of my top 10 favorite albums evarrr)

Siamese Dream is brilliant, but they are all very different. I have his new one, bought it the day it came out, and I'd have to say it's probably about even with Zwan, I am still waiting for it to grow on me though.

for thee, metal-archives owneth thee not once, not twice, but thrice

Oddly enough I can still see all three. Apparently metal-archives pictures dont "own me" on my new computer, however they do on everyone else's, strange.

Ahh okay, well not that anyone's to concerned but the albums were Pelican- Australasia (yes Im probably the last one on the forum to get the album), Lost Horizon- Awakening the World, and Nasum- Helvete.
