Basically he just talks about the parts he's showing you how to play in musical terminology.
example.... Chokehold chorus rhythm figure. Following the opening A-string pedal tone, picked as palm muted 16th notes, I strum fifth-root A5/E and Bb/F chords. In the next bar, I follow the A string pedal tone with root-fifth F5 and E5 chords. Bar 3 begins with an index-finger barre across the D and G strings at the fifth fret, sounding C5/G(a fifth root power chord), after which I add the pinkie at the seventh fret on the G string to sound G5....etc etc....
