^ Agreed.
I don't get the point of getting a tattoo because someone you look up to has that particular tattoo. It's pretty hard to do anything original, but come on, trying a little harder wouldn't have been difficult.

Exactly my thought. Most of the guys that work at the tattoo studios have the potential to improvise and make it better or come up with something original. For me ripping off the exact same thing is plain and simple stupid when it comes to tattoos and stuff that remains permanent on your body for the rest of your life.

Most tattoo artists also don't like to do copies of an already existing design either.
There's a reason they like to be referred to as artists, and some of them are capable of some stunning work.

Exactly.

Besides, this kid could have at least (if he really wanted this tattoo) let the original serve as inspiration and worked with the tattoo artist to make something even better and more personal.

But that would have actually taken work, creativity, and enough maturity to not want to be like ZOMGALEXI.

Okay, as an artist myself, I more than sympathize with those arguing for the more creative front. On the other hand...it's barbed wire. You can't do much with it...so, yes, there are possibilities, but it's not something so easily made creative as, say, the reaper from an album cover or something. I can see both sides.

Yeah, but he didn't want just barbed wire, he wanted Alexi-wire.

you're wrong, from tattoo of Alexi, me and the tattooist, we designed something different from the real alexi tattoo.
Only you have to compare the two pictures.

...

Maybe the tattooist talked some sense into your head?

THIS.

Don't start acting like you just wanted barbed wire similar to Alexi's, when you started the thread like THIS:

Hello people, I want to get this tattoo and I need a good picture of it, or the model drawn.

Thanks ^^

yes, because I wanted to make a model from the tattoo of Alexi. Any problem?

And an alert for some serious back-peddling too.

Either way, I still think copying someone else's tattoo is stupid. Not to mention that I think barb wire is one of the most overdone, pointless tattoos ever. But that's just my opinion. Haha.

On a sidenote, since Necroraven is always displaying some lovely Dissection artwork, if I were to ever have something directly copied onto my body, Dissection artwork would be pretty high on my list. (It won't happen though...)

You said you wanted to get that tattoo specifically.

To be honest, even if you just wanted a standard one, the design is SO common, why did you need an example of Alexi's?

Google would've come up with better, clearer and more pics of the design, but you went out of your way to ask for detailed pictures of his, despite them probably not even existing.
