I think what Joonas meant, is that Hypocrisy's music can be easier to listen to because it's less complex (from what i've heard but as i don't know much of them tell me if i'm wrong ). But their image AND the "tone" of their music (lower, darker etc..) are less accessible.

I listened some Hypocrisy couple of days ago and I agree what Lussi said. Ok, I dont know shit about guitarplaying etc but with my non-pro ear I would say there are much more "going on" in cobs music than in Hypocrisy-songs. Of course you can again tell us how we are such of posers who dont know anything about music but hey, thats called opinions.

Plus fun fact. It was about comparing Cob and Hypocrisy, NOT Cob and all the other bands in the world what comes to music being complex or not...

Some people say 'Brutal Death Metal' is jsut defined as Death Metal.

Like I said they're a bunch of poseur satanist kids. There are a lot of those who feel they're tough by saying they listen to some underground metal act they don't necessarily even like in reality. And Hypocrisy (like COB) aren't underground acts anymore, some have a problem when things with their fave band proceed to that point. (I do have a problem with going commercial to conquer America...) Besides what makes it funny is Hypocrisy is even easier to listen to than COB for someone who doesn't understand the instruments. Of course most of these kind of opinions are biased and the people haven't necessarily even listened to more than one song from the band they abrubtly despise.

I dont listen to just underground music I listen to bunch of popular different music, and I dont care for genre ,im not a ``satanist kid`` and a fangirl and I still think that Hypocrisy is better and more complex than COB and ive been a fan of both bands for years.Ever thought why so many ppl after getting more into metal stop listening to COB?

"Complex" was probably the wrong word because it didn't mean better or more interesting. And you're more than welcome to tell me I'm wrong about that, but I never said COB was more technical or more extreme...

just saw bodom couple weeks ago so to see alexi again is badass. and its at a way smaller (way better IMO) venue and it'll be easy as hell to meet him

Why does someone stop listening to COB in favour of more true death metal? Answer is, they started listening to COB when they were 13, because it was the most brutal thing they'd heard and fairly easy to get into. Then they figured there's more bruuutal stuff out there. They need that to feel strong on some primitive state of mind.

COB still has (imo) the most beautiful music, and also more difficult playing than most bands. Thus I see no reason to start being a Hypocrisy "fanboy" instead. Peter's growling is funny to me, I don't take it as dangerous... more like as art. They do have more depth than COB, but that aside it's retarded to say they're musically more advanced in terms of using the instruments. I guess you can call them more brutal if you like.

I'm now having a severe thrive for Hypocrisy for some reason and can't wait to get home and give it a blast..
