The first Bodom album I've listened to. Must have been back in 2006. Became a fan instantly and since back then, there was no week without listening to Bodom at some point (for the first few years there probably wasn't even a day without listening to them).

I still think it's the best record they did. And therefore also the best record of all time to me. Awesome songs, very well aged sound, Alexis newer vocal style (I'm personally not that much of a fan of his vocals on the first two albums). No wonder he ranked it at his best work himself.

I will always tell people who want to check out Bodom to start with this album.

It'll always be Follow the Reaper for me. My brother was listening to it one day, and I heard the guitar/keyboard unison before the solo section, and I immediately fell in love. Then, I heard Hate Me, and that sealed the deal.

Been a fan since 1997, met Alexi and Kimberly at Tavastia Club in 1997 chatted for a while, they were both very friendly. Saw Bodom a few times over the years, always very tight live band and even saw Sinergy in 2002 supporting Dark Tranquillity in London.
So many great albums, hard to pick just one that stands out, the first 4 or 5 then a lull for a while then a huge return to form with Chaos and Hexed.

They even translated "Children of Bodom" with "Kinder des Körpers!!!!!". They don't know what "Bodom" means,so they decided to translate it with a similar word, like "body" or "bodies" like Children of bodies!!!!!

Forgot about that infamous 4th sinergy album! Had no idea it had been that advanced...
Given the quality 2001 FTR, 2002 Suicide by my side and 2003 HCDR, that should have been a great one for sure.
Will Talking to the Trees SW version show up someday? Even if this song has been vastly recycled later on, it surely is a great historical piece. As are the entire 2nd & 3rd Inearthed demos anyway.
Any other leftover?

P.S. I've actually been listening to the Ubiquitous Absence of Remission demo for the first time in many years about a week ago, all nostalgic...
