Probably spoken before, but I noticed that one of the intro-riffs that Randy did on Ozzy's 'Waiting for darkness' sounded a lot like a riff from Kissing the shadows. Also check out Annihilator's Brain Dance (It's on the 'Set the world on fire' album). Doesn't one of the ending riffs sounds an awful lot like the Bed of Razors intro? I know Alexi is infuenced by guitarist like Randy Rhoads and Jeff Waters. That's not a bad thing 'cause every guitarist (including myself) will probably be influenced somehow by other guitarists, musicians and/or bands, but this is just stealing other peoples music. I heard he also said some stupid things about John Petrucci's guitarplaying which didn't make any sense at all.

I like Children of Bodom a lot, bought their albums, saw them live a couple of times.. but these kinda things don't make my respect for Alexi any better. Maybe sounds like a lot of 'blahblah' to you guys, but I just wanted to say what's on my mind at this moment.

There is so much music running around these days, it's almost impossible to sound original anymore. So what, everyone does it. Nobody here really cares anymore...

You melodramatic schoolgirl you.

If you need any proof of Alexi's riff stealing listen to Turpa....from Kylahullut's album, Crazy Train rip off.

First off, I believe Waiting for Darkness was written by Jake. Second, I don't understand how you get off saying that because there is a riff that may be similar to one of Alexi's influences that he is stealing music. Kissing the Shadows in full sounds nothing like Waiting for Darkness, im sorry but I dont see how this is stealing music. Riffs pop up in metal all the time that might sound similar to another metal bands, usually coincidental but it happens...the song in full is not some kind of Waiting for Darkness copy in any way. About Petrucci, Alexi never knocked his playing at all, infact he's mentioned that the whole band is full of great musicians. What he was saying is that they are boring as hell to see live, I agree with this statement from live footage ive seen. They have some good tunes but there is more you gotta do then just sit there like a stiff and play when you are performing live. One more thing...please don't give me posts that i'm some Alexi fanboy because i'm not...I just like the music and think he is a good metal guitarist. It's just a little annoying seeing every post on this board attacking the band for usually very stupid reasons. (not necessarily this post)

I really don't understand why people get so much pissed at alexi saying that stuff about DT...I LOVE their music but, I simply don't give a fuck because alexi obviously has his own tastes in music and his opinions. I'm gonna keep listening both bodom and dream theater anyway.

-Lil Bloodred Riding Hood, on Hate Crew Deathroll COMPLETELY ripped the fuck off of the chorus of Night's Blood by Dissection

-The drumbeat off of Bodom Beach Terror is completely thieved from a Carcass song off of Necroticism (I forgot which, but it's there)

-And finally, for anyone who has seen "The Rock" (Sean Connery, Nick Cage, etc.), listen to the break in Bodom After Midnight, for possibly the worst offender in ripoffery

Children of Bodom writes enjoyable enough music, even if it's not particularly varied (and sounds like a Game Boy game soundtrack). I still get a kick out of it though.

And as for Dream Theater, I gotta agree with BoDoM0311 on this, Petrucci is the most boring monotonous guy I have ever seen (from the Rock Discipline DVD, which has shots of him both from the Change of Scenes era and the 6 degrees era), and if you watch the Scenes from NY dvd (or see them live, like I did at the Theater at MSG last year), all he does is look at his guitar or make a ridiculous "ROAR!" face. But yes, he can play.

Like Bobvex said...its so hard not to rip off something these days even if you dont mean too...look at Zakk Wylde for instance...I hear so much Sabbath rip off's from him it can be rediculous sometimes...but he still brings originality to it and is still a great player...Alexi in a lot of ways is the same only I think the amount of music people are claiming he is "ripping off" is a bit exaturated.

they also have riffs from like mozart and stuff but they do it on purpose, and they arnt like trying to trick people into thinking they wrote it.

Does it really matter?
Its not like it's hurting anyone and as long is it sounds good thats all alot of people care about.

Yeah he like, totally stole it all, he's nearly as bad as Einstein when that bitch stole the theory of relativity.

people compares each others faces, compares lots of musics.. its very normal..

i listen to Bodom lots of time, the intro of Kissing shadows remind me king diamond only :)

also i like Sinergy very much. i found out one similarity,

sinergy - passage to the fourth world (00:40 - 01:00)
king diamond - at the graves (01:48 - 2:11)

listen: http://xrclan.com/LiveRatings/evrim/sinergy-kingdiamond.mp3

but Sinergy is better lol :worship: :headbang:

That's not even the worst, Alexi totally ripped off this band called Inearthed's Talking of the Trees. Listen to that song and then listen to Mask of Sanity, you'll know what I'm talking about.
