Am I the only non-power metal fan who posts here?

There are a few Hammerfall songs I like, but I wouldnt call me a fan at all. I like the contrast to the more agressive metal I listen to most of the time once in a while

Well, Death Metal, especially brutal death metal to me is so mundane and cheesy these days, every band sounds the same and no one cares, they eat it up because its brutal and they're supporting "the scene" whatever the hell that is. How many boring songs can you write about serial killers or satan? I personally miss the older days of death metal, before it became transfixed with pseudo-technicality (jazz influenced my ass) and slam riffing. BUT - to each his own, at least its metal. Just don't think its more metal than Iron Maiden, because you'de be wrong .

I favor a pretty even split of power metal, progressive metal, & melodic metal..not even gonna get into the *my fave is better than yours* shit tho cuz all of the metal genres have something about them that's just as friggin cheesy as the others..

Manowar and HammerFall do not represent the whole Power Metal Genre much like Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel dont represent the whole death metal genre. also all metal is and will be cheesy at times except for nu metal its just plain gay!
