Amott goes Washburn?

I'm sure of a few things, not based on any sources, just my intuition:

  • Mike's model won't have the ugly Schencker zebra print. It will probably be closer in appearance to his ESP models.
  • Mike's model will have Seymour JB/59 configuration like his past guitars always have. Possibly offered in Floyd and fixed bridge configurations as well.
  • If you don't like the Dean V design, you have bad taste.
  • Dean pwns.

I think his new Dean product endorsement will be short lived....he's been brand jumping for the past couple of years now. I know the sound guy for Carcass...he said those Dean's were sent to him before the NYC show...he states Mike said both the Washburn's and Deans weren't up to his standards in quality(whatever that means)...I'd much rather see him with a Gibby, ESP or Ibanez sig. Or even my creation the RG-V!

Carcass29 - are you sure that info should be printed?

Dean isn't up to Dean Zelinsky's standards anymore either.

Yea Dean would probably not appreciate that comment. And my inner child just exploded into sheer joy when I saw DBZ guitars, nurturing the hope that there would be a whole line of guitars dedicated to Dragonball Z haha. Much to my disappointment. One day......

I don't see what the big fuzz about dean is al about, i owned a dean time capsule USA Z, my Gibson Explorer sound much heavier and played better than the dean.
the dean looked really nice though, that was about it... but soundwise it wasn't anything special, switched to a gibson les paul classic now and i'm much happier.

I think you have to find a vintage Dean, otherwise I'm not sure how well even their current USA made stuff holds up. I myself have a 1978 Dean ML that I've upgraded with EMG 85/89 configuration, locking Planet Waves tuners, and it is amazing.

I think the guitar would look way better with another paint design... That one is too flashy for my taste. It looks like Dean is grabbing everyone they can... I just hope this isn't another Krank "type of deal". Anyways, I'm glad he finally found another company! :kickass:
