Can you show me a source? I'm looking online but this kind of search is difficult. It's not that I don't believe you guys, I just can't find any proof one way or the other. It sure as shit SOUNDS like 2 syllables. "Fay-uhl"Accepted grammar rules state it is NOT two syllables.

Actually, (and I had absolutely no idea about this) it has to do with how many and where the word's vowels are placed. I always thought syllables were based off of the pronunciation of the word.I know it feels weird, but smaller words are usually excluded from syllable rules.
