Andy, James - Best album of 2005?

For James:

"Shadows are Security" is the As I Lay Dying's last album (not All That Remains) :p
yeah, that's the problem with these type of band names: As I lay Crying Tomorrow, Tomorrow Is Monday, Yesterday Is Today, Blood Of Next Thurday, All That Bleeds, Taking Back February, ... it all just gets blurry.. lol.. never the less, Shadows Are Security is a good example of that kind of metal, and Andy's mix is killer.

Opeth - Ghost Reveries
Nevermore - This Godless Endeavor
Arch Enemy - Doomsday Machine
Soilwork - Stabbing the Drama
Strapping Young Lad - Alien (even though I was listening to it in 2004)
Children of Bodom - Are You Dead Yet?
Hypocrisy - Virus
Pain - Dancing with the Dead
Devildriver - The Fury of Our Maker's Hand
DAATH - The Hinderers
Mnemic - The Audio Injected Soul
Dark Tranquillity - Character
Scar Symmetry - Symmetric in Design
Roadrunner United
Dimmu Borgir - Stormblåst 2005
Porcupine Tree - Deadwing
HIM - Dark Light

I'm kind of partial to As I Lay Bleeding Through Sevenfold and Taking Back Thursday.

I thought Between the Buried and Me was gonna be a lameass emo band too, cuz of the name... boy was I wrong.

Check this out:

Emo band name generator!

Here's a few killer band names I got from this:

My Yellow Article
The 12:00 June Plan
The Fight Stars Theory
August Beat Down
Your Forgotten March
The Monday Boy Scene

Funny but dangerous! These bands will probably show up within the week on Myspace and on the radio within two. Then we'll all have to listen to My Yellow Article's Cardboard Wristslit Anthem Constantly... bahhh...

But seriously, that's pretty good. I better not show my singer those names. He's pretty emo and he'll probably want to change the name to something like that.

My faves this year:

Overkill - ReliXIV
Nevermore - This Godless Endeavour
Kreator - Enemy of God
Arch Enemy - Doomsday Machine
Jake E Lee - Retraced
New Model Army - Carnival

Muttley

My best of 2005 are...

ENYA - Amarantine
TESTAMENT - Reunion Concert Live in London (live-CD)
IN FLAMES - In Live, We Trust (double live-CD)
Nevermore - This Godless Endeavor
Arch Enemy - Doomsday Machine
Opeth - Ghose Reveries
Mnemic - The Audio Injected Soul
Soilwork - Stabbing The Drama

:headbang:

Exodus- Shovel Headed Kill Machine
Nevermore- This Godless Endeavor
Hypocrisy- Virus

Other good albums, but are less badass than those three:

High on Fire- Blessed Black Wings
Soulfly- Dark Ages (surprisingly)
Vile- The New Age of Chaos
Corrosion of Conformity- In the Arms of God
Kreator- Enemy of God

Watch Them Die and Strapping Young Lad were pretty cool too.
