I always got to ANUS to get a laugh. It´s completely fucking hilarious the way they overanalyse the music in their reviews. Chill down, just listen, stop trying to dig up the "underlying" messages that can be "found" in extreme music...is what i would want to say to them.

I use it, but sometimes it gets on my nerves. I can get useful information (when whatever gets posted isn't dilluted with bias, they're masters at that) and some good albums from it, but the administrators seem like all they're trying to do is be more intelligent than everyone, yet all they use to back up their facts are their opinions. Seems stupid to me.

So, does anyone here use it? What do you think of it?

Were you banned from just the forums or the whole site?

I never use their forum but I depend on that site for my daily metal research.

I got banned from the message board because I attempted to wage war with Noktorn and threatened to take the entire site down if I needed to.

It was an empty threat, but I still can't access the boards without a proxy.

It's not that it's bad to necessarily over analyze things in the way they do. Perhaps the thing I seem to dislike the site was the reasons for which they scorned certain albums. I also hate the grammar they use to wirte reviews as it simply makes them look like they think they're so fucking elite. Thet's the scum of MetalHead snobbery IMO.

I got banned for calling a guy an elitist for bad mouthing a movie. I was kind of joking around & I didn't come off as being all that harsh in my message, but one of the widdle boys over there cried to that Nightgaunt queer about my remark. When he did that Nightgaunt imposed a brand new rule that would basically banish people whenever they called someone an elitist. The thing was I never got a warning & I even apologized for acting stupid in another post in the thread shortly thereafter. That place fucking sucks anyways at the end of the day.

Exactly my point! The thing is that if you put on an album which they have reviewed and listen to it while reading the rreview, you will go "what the fuck is he talking about?"
For example a line like this:

"The rhythms are simple percussive matrices underlying simple phrase beats played in the cutting distortion of the guitar, the combination of percussion and duration that reveals the components of each note and chord simultaneously."

Do they really think the creator had these thoughts in his head while creating described piece? This is the kind of pseudo-intellectualism i cant stand. A review should be done to describe how the music sounds and the up and downparts of that specific music, not to show of your skills in creating complex sentences.

Well racism isn't just another word for discriminating against any group of people. You can convert to Islam so Islam is not a race, like Caucasians, Arabs etc and therefore being against it isn't racism.

As far as I am aware the actual genetic differences between races dont cary much further than how the skin and hair adapted to the light. The different levels of civilisation are probably influenced by location for example whether you actually need to keep stocks of food because of how it is available etc.

But yeah, all opinions but this is stuff I remember reading somewhere too.
