4. How did you first discover metal music? Friend brought over Venom's Black Metal and Hellhammer's Apocalyptic Raids records back in the 80's. All downhill from there.


5. Which genre of metal do you prefer? Mood changes almost daily. Thrash, death, viking/pagan, and traditional seem to get played the most.

I first started listening to bands like AC/DC, Aerosmith, Rush etc. when I was 9/10 and then when I was 11 I really got into Metallica, At The Gates, Blind Guardian, Children of Bodom etc. etc.

Anything that involves experimental, progressive, symphonic etc. elements, whether the base of it is death or black metal doesn't make much difference to me.

5. Black/Folk metal. Anything with a dark vibe and folky melodies gets my attention.

10. Ambient/Downbeat electronic music. I've been known to throw on the bluegrass channel on Sirius sometimes too. Though pretty much any genre that is instrumentally, rather than vocally driven I can enjoy. Music written as a backdrop to a vocal line tends to be unimaginative.

4: Grew up with Sabbath, Metallica, Megadeth, etc., but I really got into it with my first Grave, Demilich and Opeth albums that I got circa 1997. Then I found Audiogalaxy in 1998. god damn good memories.
5: I don't prefer one over the other really, but I do get into cyclic spurts for certain genre's. Right now it's 80's thrash and psychedelic/doom metal.
