News in Spain say that Mexican government is not telling the whole truth and that there could be more people affected than they say.
It would be nice if a mexican could tell us what happens really.
Is it the end of the world? Or is it another exagerated alarm as many other years ago like avian flu, mad cows...?

Good question. I'm curious if this is a real problem or just a bad movie of the week. On the upside, maybe it'll convince a lot of Americans and others as well that we need to get our health care systems operating in the vicinity of this century (dream on)

Ok

I`m Mexican, and today im sick of hearing about the flu, Paranoia is taking over, they suspended school classes and a lot of activities as concerts, they`ve closed cinemas and public areas, people here are freaking out, BUT!:

Nobody know of someone infected or death, news are saying that about 1000 people are infected and about 130 deaths because the flu, but i don´t know nobody infected or someone who know about an official death, so a lot of people here are expeculating something behind the curtain, they have done it in the past.

I don`t know, i think media are exagerating this stuff, but in a big scale, if my conclusions are right, something big is happening here.

Panic over chaps! The culprit has been caught and is cooperating with police:

:p

Even here in Chile people are rushing to pharmacies to buy "flu medicines" ahahahaa, it's all about FEAR!

Funny thing is, we already have a flu pandemic every single year that kills a few hundred thousand people.
its called the common flu.

and no-one gives a shit.

a handful of people die in mexico (or maybe not?) from a disease that seems to be only slightly more agressive and on a par with common flu for lethality, and suddenly its the end of the world, i smell bullshit somewhere.

Yeah man, something fucked is going on. "They" are trying to create panic. happens time and time again. take a look back in history. the people in power always pull some shit like this before they decide to rip everyone off and bring countries to thier knees for the sake of profit.

I´m tired of this shit here.

Here in town, there´s not a single case of that shit, and everybody is freaked out. the government just passed a few wacky laws and nobody fucking care about it (for example, the legal use of drugs in little doses) and a few other ones, but i personally think that it`s just not about that. Im tired of people being so dumb, they don´t see that this is a fucking flu!! i just had flu last week, and im still here, just needed one day to recover, but this is getting world wide attention and in several countries they claim to have "Infected" people.

They are restricting people to come to Mexico, we had Mayhem, a guy from Metal Church and other acts playing here, and they all cancelled, we have Metallica coming, one of the biggest Mexico´s money income is turism and this is just a bad thing for our economy, the entire country is almost paralized, schools are empty, they are fucking us out more.

"Hey guys, so how do we stimulate this shit-hole of an economy? This $3 increase in yearly salary isn't doing it..."
"I know! Let's make up a "flu" based on more barnyard animals and scare people into buying a bunch of shit they don't need!"
"Genius. Pure genius."

Yea, 'cause facemasks stimulate the economy so much...
1600 cases in Mexico city, 200 deaths, an alert issued too late after students on spring break have returned home.
A possible route from avian flu to human by way of pig. Oh sure, just a big joke.
I'm sure the corporation that owns Tamiflu will just cut prices for the greater good if there IS a pandemic too.
Some Mexican doctors don't think it's funny-

Hopefully this will die down. To me none of this seems any different than the SARS "epidemic" except this time it happens to be in Mexico instead of China. Nevertheless I hope this issue gets squared away.

I'm not worried in the slightest.
Bird flu number 2.

Government scare tactics haven't managed to touch me in a long while.
My girlfriend told me the other day her friend's dad is stockpiling bottled water and tinned food incase of a pig flu epidemic, couldn't help but laugh.
The guy's a Christian to boot. I laughed. Motherfucking hard.
