Any Night Ranger fans here?

I was not aware the band was working on a new one. I need to do some research on who is in the band these days and what is going on recording wise.

Cdinzane has a sound clip of the new album.

Anyway, it sounds like a continuation of Seven. I'm not happy with that change in sound. I like the more keyboard heavy with ripping guitar solos sound that they had through Neverland. Seven was just standard, boilerplate rock and the new one sounds like it as well.

Still the same lineup, Jack Blades - b, Brad Gillis - g, Jeff Watson - g, Kelly Keagy - d, but new keys by Michael Lardie (ex - Great White) replacing Alan Fitzgerald.

I agree, sounds more in line with Sevens but have only heard 2-3 clips off of melodicrock.com

Da Pup.

Any one else find it odd they have albums called Seven Wishes then another called Seven?? A little to close to the same name to me.

Seven was simply called that because it was their seventh studio album

Been a BIG fan of these guys for a LONG time
The past two albums since reuniting:

Seven was very lackluster

Neverland (before it) was much better in all ways but still not up to the old standard

I saw them live about 6 years ago and lemme say these guys still have studo quality harmony live - its absolutely sick how good they sound

Dawn Patrol is still one of my favorite hard rock albums ever:headbang: :worship:

And I have always loved the Man in Motion CD - the last one before they split up

Kelly the drummer did a solo album called Time Lost a few years back that has some real standout tracks on it - believe his newest solo just came out too

I believe Kelly pulled drumming duties with The Mob as well didn't he? Personally, I thought that effort sucked, but maybe that's just me. It was one of the most boring albums ever to have such a great hard rock lineup. :erk:

I loved Keagy's first album. Second not so much.

I'd still love to see them live though, even if I'm not crazy about their work over the last ten years or so.

I am a Night Ranger fan, but have not heard the new one.

I love their first four records, then gave up after Man in Motion. Recently, I picked up a newer one from a used CD store (Seven or Neverland, can't remember) and found it very dull, so back to the used stores it went. I think I'll stick with the early stuff.

I've always been a Jack Blades fan, even in Damn Yankees. I always liked the songs he or Tommy Shaw wrote and (oddly) didn't like the Nugent songs.
I'd also recommend the record he did with Tommy Shaw called Hallucination. It seemed to be a side project of a side project, since it came out after Damn Yankees did their thing. Just some great rock-n-roll song writing on that one, I wish they'd do another!

They still put on a great live show man - I am always watching for them to hit south florida again

Hah - track four on Keagy's first album is such a great driving tune!:headbang:

"By this time tomorrow... I'll be time zones away...."

They JUST released a new one

It is all covers I believe - I heard the YES track and it was pretty damn good

Dawn Patrol was EASILY their best record. I agree I lost interest after the first 4 even though I have them all except the new one.

I got into a period with Dawn Patrol where I just kept listening to CALL MY NAME over and over again....

I swear I wore that damn cassette OUT :loco:

I discovered NR with Dawn Patrol. They really set a high mark with that one. Saw them quite a few times. Had no clue they were putting out a new one. NOt the same without Fitz. Will have to keep an ear out for it.

Coldie.....still rocking in America

I saw Night Ranger on the Rock Never Stops tour in 1995 or 1996 and they still knew how to rock the damn roof off! If they have a new album coming out, I will definitely run right out and buy it. Thanks for posting this thread because I wasn't aware of the news ...
