i meant like
if you've got the books for pathfinder and shadowrun and rifts and mutants-and-masterminds and vampire-the-masquerade
and you're gonna end-up playing all of those different table-top-role-playing games
D&D 5th edition is the one i would have someone start with, as their first-time-ever playing any table-top role-playing game
D&D 5th edition works the best for that situation, i'd say
but if you're looking at someone who's played Rifts or Shadowrun the Star wars Role-playing game and they want to start playing a D&D-type setting for the first time
i'd use Pathfinder
