Awesome shit. My life has been much better since I've been dong it. Other things I'm just recently getting into are astral projection, trance, and energy work?

Anybody else into this kind of stuff?

Ive tried it a few times, but I have a problem with my bloodpressure, so I either fall asleep, or cant meditate because this pounding noise in my ears(Heartbeat.). :erk:

Meditation is alright but IMHO astral projection, energy work and such stuff is pure esoteric wimpy new age bullshit :)

Yeah, gotta +1 that - I do Transcendental Meditation (TM), which is essentially twice a day sitting comfortably for 20 minutes in silence with your eyes closed, repeating a single word (mantra) over and over mentally, but making ZERO effort to focus on it or anything else (losing track of the mantra and having your thoughts drift and wander is part of the process, though when you notice you just gradually come back to the mantra). I find it very relaxing and stress-relieving, though sometimes it's hard to have to drop everything and do it, so I can't always keep it up (I've been lapsing a bit recently, I really should get back into it).

Have you actually tried it? It is similar to learning an instrument were it takes a lot of time and effort put forth in learning it. I can gaurantee you it is not bullshit. I've experienced it first hand as well as many others.

None of this meant in disrespect to your response BTW.

You cant guarantee that its not bullshit if you believe that you've left your body.
BUT its been proven that you can trigger allot of parts of your brain by various types of meditation, thus creating a dreamlike state.
So from the scientific view, I believe in it, but I don't believe for one minute that you can actually leave your body.

I have my self had some of those "out of body" experiences, due to severe head trauma though.

I'm not saying that I believe that I have left my body. If you keep your mind awake and aware as you let your body fall asleep some very interesting things will start to happen. Especially if you take notice of all the hypnagogic imagery and sounds. (The things you start to see behind your closed eyelids when going to sleep like colors and shapes swirling around in the darkness.) You get very odd sensations and can take an active part in the scenes you see.

And about the science... I'm really big into science, possibly more so than the subject at hand, but there are many many things that cannot be explained with modern science and I think it would be borderline retardation to believe that everything could be.

Also, I'm not trying to sway anyones opinion. Just stating my own.

I haven't meditated in the traditional sense of sitting down and doing fucking nothing for half an hour. But I have been day dreaming for a long period of time in my life, it lasted a few months, and it ended a few months ago, where I would just trying to understand reality, the XYZ dimensions, time as a dimension, blablabla, yadadada. Yeah it sounds fucking crazy, but trying to understand the absolutely most basic things in reality like "How come there is space? What is the very fabric of this X dimension, reaching through the universe?" etc etc, that can put me in a meditation-like state sometimes. Haha, during those months, I could get up and enter another room and completely forget what I was about to do by the time I was through the door.

But it's hardly meditation I guess.

Oh and by the way, the shapes and colors you describe, I see them quite often before going to sleep, without any effort of meditation or what so ever. Sometimes they look like fractals, growing from nothing and repeating endlessly in a cycle. Most often they are purple and orange. Weird shit :|

And "people" say we only use what, 10% of our brain? Then why the fuck did we evolve to have this brain if we're not using all of it? Talk about a waste! I'd like to donate the parts of my brain that I'm not using to the politicians and other stupid everyday-life-people. They might have some use of it.

Meditation is proven to "unlock" a few of those parts in the brain, and gain control of parts that other wise are controlled by "instinct"(Such as releasing dopamine by power of though, thus creating an euphoria much like the one from heroin.)... .. Maybe I should start meditating?

It's proven to do that? Cool shit! I guess, if you took control over your serotonin production, you could make yourself a miserable fuck by stopping it or turn into a power filled nut-head and be really happy 24/7!

and the rest is waiting to be used.

Jeff

OMG You are implying something with 2012 aren't you? We're all gonna die aren't we? The rest of the brain is going to be activated when the Galactic Federation of Light and all the fucking retarded aliens come to bless us, while Nibiru passes our planet and fucks us with tsunamis, isn't that so? PANIC!!

Just kiddin', had to mimic those 2012 bull-shitters that try to interpret everything as linked to 2012. We recently had a SMALL earthquake here in Sweden, 4,7 in strength and there were a few people that commented an article on an online newspaper and tried to link this to Nibiru's coming in 2012. They were like "Oh don't you see? It's starting now, Nibiru is near, it is affecting us. This sort of activity is going to increase up until 2012". Stupid fucks :( As if earthquakes don't happen every single fucking day around the globe, as soon as it happens to Sweden, all these mother fucking cowards go ape shit.

I've been almost at the center of a 7,8 earthquake in Turkey 1999 where over 20.000 people died. Even then, people immediately said it was the doomsday, when all of us were outside and secure from the buildings. It was in the middle of the night and all electricity in the whole town went out, and I heard people say "look how close the stars are to us, this is the end". What they didn't realize is that you see SHIT TONS more of stars when there is no city light to disturb the incoming star light.

Man am I good at turning a thread into something else or what? :D

Back to meditation! Uhmm.... yeah so, meditation seems cool and all...!
