Anyone seen this?

you missed!!

hahaha!!

what is soooo bad about them? they really do add clarity.....but i am not as knowledged as some of you here.

They make your sound better in the same way that beer makes the women hotter. Say what you want now, but there will come a day when you fucking regret it.

JBroll - your quote about the BBE Maximizer is a classic... ROFL...

Great video, thanks for posting. The video is good although I don't like what he says about active pickups. Other than that, excellent video and a really good tutorial for people. I've not experimented too much with mic positioning or multi-miking, so that part was especially instructive for me.

dammit.
i've been trying to play this video since it was posted with no success.
shit just won't load.

anyone else having problems with it?

I've tried IE, Firefox, and even just downloading the .swf.

Jeff

i understand.

it's just all in my head......the times I DONT take my rack to shows are usually the times I feel like my amp doesnt have enough treble....and I'll crank the high end and crank up my presence.... I really want to just get wireless so I'll be able to hear my tone as an audience member.

If you really need to download the video to your harddrive, follow the instructions here:
http://www.infocellar.com/software/streaming-media.htm

Where it says:
Flash Video Streaming (the swf file links to an FLV file stored on a server) - these are the toughest types to get !!!...
You need the software to detect the download link only, so no need to buy it, just use the trial.

However, the publisher of this video may not want you to download the video, maybe you should ask him before you do it.

the actul video file was guitartone_final_1.flv or sometihng

LOAD THE VIDEO IN INTERNET EXPLORER (NOT FIREFOX)
VIEW YOUR TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES
SORT BY SIZE
FIND THE GUITARTONE .FLV VIDEO AND COPY IT WHEREEVER

Now, you can either play it in a player that plays flash video or convert it to another format.

Personally, I don't think it's worth the trouble. It's stuff you probably already know.

Noob alert, 2 seperately recorded takes of guitar with 2 mics, I always thought for some reason if your using that technique you might still record 4 takes with 2 mics each making a total of 8 tracks. 2 takes with 2 mics is still quad tracking due to the tonal variation while being a lot tighter than 1 mic 4 different takes right?

Brilliant!

you mean use it after a track has been recorded, for clarity?

I do like it for live applications, but it does add a bit much on the treble side of things......

Yes, if you got a crappy guitar sound and you can't rerecord.

Not really.

4 different takes is the way to go on heavy stuff. You can make any amount of takes sound tight if you've got a good player, or a bad player and a lot of patience, or any combination of the two. Two different mics does NOT have the same effect as two separate takes, and while two takes isn't a bad thing, it's just two short of quad tracking, even if you have 12 mics on each take.

When I use two mics per take, I end up with 8 tracks.

as for the BBE a couple of months ago i never played without it, then i asked what people thought of it and the general opinion was :Puke: so i tried taking it out of my signal an picked up at ts9 and i can honestly say i am never touchin a fuckin BBE again, tryin to sell it is a bitch though.
