do you look like a headbanger that wear metal bands everytime, just go the metal parties and have dates with people that likes metal as you?

or do you listen to metal but have a common life, use any kind os clothes and don't care if isn't playing metal where you are and have friends that don't like metal but respect your taste and you respect then too???

I'd say I'm the latter. For me, metal's not in the clothes one wears or in the hair, it's in them. I've been to more parties that weren't metal than ones that were, although most of the ones that weren't metal did play some, or at least they played some rock, and have had at least as many non-metal friends as metal ones, if not more. I've had friends into pop, country, rap, dance music, punk, alternative, etc. I couldn't care less what music a person's into as long as they're cool.

I wear mostly band t-shirts and have long hair. I have about 1 or 2 friends that listen to metal, and the rest listen to stuff like Slipknot and the like, but I don't think less of them for it. My girlfriend doesn't really listen to metal either (other than a few bands that I got her into), but it's not like that matters. It's a person's personality and overall attitude that matters, not their music tastes. Anyone that judges someone based off of his/her music taste is an idiot.

All of the chicks that look like metalheads at my school are posers. My gf likes some heavier stuff but listens to classic rock for the most part (fine by me). I have 3 or four metal friends and they are the people I hang out with most.

And my hair is too thick and dry to grow long. I used to have really fine blond hair which was down past my neck but sadly those days are over. Don't wear to many bandshirts, mostly random t shirts and jeans/athletic clothing

i live the metal way
*insert more manowar lyrics*

seriously, i wear band shirts every day, most of my friends are metalheads, im always at shows... the only thing that isnt stereotypical is my job and lack of hair. but even bald is metal.

Is there a stereotypical metal head occupation in the US then ?

A few of my friends who are metal heads are (in no order)

Cops (like, d'uh)
A nuclear engineer
A computer network consultant
A teacher (primary / elementary)
self employed business bod

Well considering that teachers are the primary means of instilling a country's values in its children, and that metal is rather anti-cultural.

I'm only teaching Latin so that all my students can form kvlt Black Metal bands with cool-sounding names and album titles.

It's a fine line to walk, though. I almost got in some trouble recently, when I thought it would be a good idea to call Emperor Nero "misunderstood". Obviously, none of the little buggers knew who he was, but they later asked another teacher, and though he managed to dodge the answer as the situation dawned on him, he did approach me and asked slyly what the hell I had been saying... :dopey:

Epicus is a real Latin word, actually. Same meaning. "Metallicus" is a word, too, but it means "made of metal".

But "Epic Doom Metal" in real Latin translates to "Epicum Metallum Fatorum".

There's no Latin word for doom, so with a substitution, I made the phrase "Epic Metal of the Fates."

Hehe. I just hope to convey the message that Christianity was treated the same way less popular faiths have been treated by Christianity. All depends on who's in power.

I have one band shirt and it's a metal one. I normally wear jeans and a plain or at least non-band tee shirt. I have about three friends who listen to metal. Half of them went nu metal then thrash metal and death metal then they somehow went back to pop music and even simple acoustic love song type stuff. meh whatever. I hate talking about music with fashion slaves but other than I get along with a lot of differnt people.

I don't live a metal life I just listen to metal a lot. I wont marry any gf that mocks me for liking metal :p Really though, I wouldn't.

I don't think anyone would guess that I listen to metal from my appearance. As for tolerance of pop music. I actually enjoy some really cheesy stuff for the comedy value but certain thing really irritate me. I dislike radio in general tbh. I like to control over what I'm listening to and not talking.
I wouldn't have the radio on in a car if I was driving. It's not just pop radio that iritates me. Even radio 4. It's hard to explain.
