Is it only me that thinks these two songs are very similar?The way the keyboards are used and the way the vocals go+the way the repeated melody goes in both songs seem really similar to me.Any chance Opeth got inspired by Anathema ?

Well, Damnation came out seven months before A Natural Disaster, so I don't see how they could have the time to be inspired by the song unless they've heard it quite a while before it was recorded.

I think that melody which starts at 1:28 is very similar to Weakness melody starting first time at 00:56.
And I am not trying to say that Opeth stole riffs just thought they sound same.

Agreed, also I don't hear any similarities at all. Are you there is an extremely sad and somewhat desperate song while weakness is pretty resigned and ambiguous in tone.
