Are you willing to be a moderator?

Hm.. I'm not sure if I like that "campaign", knowing that preciously few people from the Nevermore board post on GMD. If Nevermore posters just come here to vote for Marksveld and then leave, just to support him, the poll will give quite a wrong picture, I believe..

I whole heartedly agree my friend! This shouldn't turn into a popularity contest. We need to choose a mod for the greater good of the forum. Only the people who post here on a daily basis should be allowed to vote. Maybe we can have a voting process via email/ private messages where only frequest GMD forum users are allowed to vote. You can all send your votes to me and I'll tally them up if everyone agrees.

(Plus this would prevent anyone who wishes to become mod from voting multiple times with various screennames.)

Are we going for multiple mods or just one? If it's the former, it might be worth having a checkbox poll and choosing the top 2, 3, whatever.

Yeah, I was pondering over whether it should be a checkbox poll myself. It should also be a public poll and voting for one's self should be forbidden, I reckon.

AWMM has a point, multiple accounts might be a problem. I wonder if Deron can check the IPs. We could just discard the votes by people who don't post regularly, if it's a public poll.

Ugh, don't bring them into this. I pretty much posted that thread on their board without thinking about it. They don't like me that much anyway  . Right Pancakes?

Or let's just drop the whole poll option. I.e checking boxes. We don't need another florida type debacle on our hands. So what I propose is a better method than what I suggested earlier. (Seeing that nobody on here would trust me in such matters) Why doesn't everyone who is a regular poster just openly vote in a post. That way we can ensure without a doubt that the votes are coming from this forums members and no outside favoritism is taking place? If the ballot consists of voting for 2 mods then so be it. Let the poll run intil monday or so and the winner of the tally becomes new mod aslong as Deron approves?!??!? Who all agrees with this plan?

I say Marksveld is hereby banned from becoming a mod. Who the hell is he anyway? :>

It may end up working that way. But a public poll allows you to see who's voted just as well as posting, so neither has an advantage in that sense.

I forgot that you have to be a UM superstar to get any respect. I appologize for trying to show people my serious ideas as a possible mod. You guys are brutal, I guess I'm out of the race then.

I don't recall seeing you around here much. You also joined six months ago.

What does that have to do with anything, seriously? I have 500ish posts in 6 months, thats not bad. I'm an active member on many forums here.. I don't get your point at all.

The 'winner' isn't becoming President. This is all a bunch of crap, anyway: no one has a problem with GoD being mod, he's been around for a long time and visits regularly. We don't need a hero to become the mod at GMD.

no shit! I don't have a problem with him either, I fucking voted for him! All I was saying is that I don't get why people are jumping all over me for trying to show my ideas, I know its not the throne of the world. I thought perhaps I could help this forum begone of bullshit. Damn.

Doesn't anyone else find it really ironic that the issue which was the catalyst for moderation has become worse with all these useless threads regarding people campaigning, voting, saying they would be willing to moderate and so forth?

Enough threads already.

I would have to be paid a small fortune to be a moderator in this forum. Too many people here in this forum act like children and have no respect for other posters and their opinions.
I am not complaining about any particular individuals, but as metal-heads, we already get looked down upon by the general public and while there is nothing wrong with being opinionated (as I am as well,) the few things we have in our social life is other metal-heads and I get beside myself when I see how poorly people are treated here for stating their opinion.
Take this post as you want to, but although I like to be a tough guy like any other self respecting metal-head here, I try to show some love to my metal brothers and sisters here and at other forums, but that doesn't seem to be followed by some here. As metal-heads, if we don't have each other, who do we have even if we may not like the same exact bands etc. ?
