In France and Spain they have something similar. It is called Pim's and is made by LU, and then every supermarket has their own brand. It also comes in other flavours such as cherry and white choc (delishioussshh) , pear and black chocolate, original orange, and so on. Maybe the sponge is not as dry as the British version, but otherwise is the same.

Now I could really kill for some Petit écolier biscuits...
