I think the right two got through from last night, and wouldn't mind if Chris and Nathaniel got on the wild card show. Damien is one awesome singer.

Of the girls, Jessica and Amanda were my favs, with Klancie and Reigan the ones I wouldn't mind on the wildcard. Amanda can do rock well, pity she picked Pink and not something that actually is rock.

Let the games begin.

Amanda is good, one of the best Australian female rock voices I've heard in quite some time... which isn't really saying much.

Perhaps. The Irish guy can really fucking sing though. And that young chick Jessica was perfect last night as well.

Rockstar is a cooler show, with cooler songs, and is less karaoke, but are any of them, from either season, as amazing a singer as the Irish dude?

I can't imagine it. More enjoyable to watch for sure, but as technically proficient..? No one I saw in the first season would have came close.

JD Fortune has a hot rock voice, and this guy sing mellow stuff well.

Celine Dion and Mariah Carey are both probably more technically proficient than say... Bruce Dickinson.. Prob a bad example cause he is fuckin good too.... but you know what I mean..

By the way, I'm not ragging on Idol cause I do watch it... I just think that after watching Rockstar, this season is going to be harder for me personally to watch cause it is like a cheap, polite, karaoke version of Supernova.

You said it. Vocalists like Celine Dion are better than many rock singers, but I would rather listen to the rock singers. I would probably rather watch Rockstar, but I don't, so Idol will do, because it still has its place. Some great singers in there.

Next time you're at the shops and you're holding both the new Celine Dion DVD and the new Maiden DVD, would you buy the Celine one even though you'd rather watch the Maiden one?

Idol is in your face. It is in a way easier to watch it than not to. You can't avoid it, so why not embrace it. I simply couldn't be bothered with Rockstar. When it started, I was watching so much other tv that I just couldn't be bothered with more.

It is! After the first Rock Star, they decided to spice up Idol with scruffy looking people who can play guitars, but guess what? NONE OF THEM MADE IT THROUGH! Why? Because the people on Rock Star are chosen by members of rock bands, and the people on Idol are chosen firstly by an MOR producer/fallen teen idol, a cabaret singer and a fat radio DJ, then by teenage girls. They want a Rock Star feel? Where's the mohawk guy with an armful of tatts or the chick who looks like Pink? Where? Fronting a kick ass rock band in a pub in Adelaide.

A few have made it into the 12 actually. Dean and Bobby, and no doubt Lisa from tonight, all muso types.

Kyle is such a dick though. What he said about Lisa being the best thing in Australia was ridiculous. Sure she sounded good, but all she did was put her unique voice to song, nothing amazing. The singing itself wasn't anything special.

I missed the second guys show. Mutto seemed then best from the clips though. Didn't see enough of Bobby to be happy or sad.

I'm a big fan of Bobby, I think he's tops. Anyone else think he looks like Eric Stoltz from the movie Mask?
