So now that I'm a college grad and have permanently moved in with my folks again, it occurs to me that if and when I start entertaining female friends here at the crib, having some music to drown out our activities would be advantageous. However, my discography consists of...metal. So what's some tunes you dudes about town can recommend? (that will still allow me to preserve my dignity and self-respect, so no hip hop, R&B, modern pop, etc. please!)

And yes, I'm aware of what a ridiculous question this is

Oh, and since I know some smartass is gonna chime in with "Meat Hook Sodomy" or "Fucked with a Knife" or "Lick my Love Pump" or "Big Bottom" or "Sex Farm" or any other jokes, I'll just get those out of the way too :D

Honestly a really solid cd to groove to for me is the first Story of The Year cd. I love the band and its stuff chicks dig too.

Female music? Damn, that's a tough one. How about classic stuff like the Doors or some kinda shit like that? My Fiance loves them. But then I also caught her listening to my Evisceration Plague CD when after I left it in her car a while back, so she's got pretty good taste. I dunno man.

Hmm, yeah, therein is the problem - it's pretty much a given that anything I listen to most (reasonably) well-adjusted chicks will not be too keen on  However, you may be on to something with the classics Greg; I'm not big into the doors, but I'm a big fan of 70s prog (Kansas, Genesis, Yes, etc.), so I could make a few playlists of the less self-indulgent tunes (nothing sets the mood like a 10 minutes polyrhythmic keyboard break! ) Keep 'em comin'!

Considering me and my girlfriend like a lot of the same stuff, it's easy.

Circa Survive is always good, Foals, the Chilis (if you're feeling dirty,) dj shadow, sage francis (yeah i know the last two are hip hop but its so good you cant help but get into it! :D)

all good music to fuck/make love/have funtimes to.

Honestly, you're missing out on a huge demographic by dismissing all modern pop like you do. Not only is a ton of it really good, but chicks are into it. If that's selling out, then oh well..

You can keep your 'dignity' and 'self-respect' - I prefer getting laid!

Akon has some catchy shit, so does Eminem, but even those are way further than you need to go with girls. If she's really only into rap, grab some Asher Roth - finally some rap that white, suburban kids can identify with!

Some Joshua Radin, John Mayer (Continuum is fucking genius), Brand New (one of my favorite bands of all time, hardly pop), maybe some Yellowcard/Fall Out Boy (legitimately good songs)/Story of the Year/Coheed and Cambria would even be good. Shit, all of Devin's softer stuff, Coheed and Cambria, The Fray, Imogen Heap... all pretty solid, musically, and most girls can dig it to an extent.

If all else fails, just buy a CD of The Four Top's greatest hits and you're set! How the fuck can she deny songs like "Shake Me, Wake Me," "Reach Out," Baby I need Your Loving," "I Can't Help Myself," and "Build Me Up Buttercup Baby?"

I'm dead serious about the Four Tops, though. That shit JAMS!

hmmmm good question, I would make a CD mix with the great rock ballads of all time..(nothing else matters, november rain, Nickelback and some new "trendy" stuff) And when I talk about my fundus of experience...nearly all woman I know love ballads with piano  But don´t forget, there are some women in the world, diggin especially the Metal stuff

This is always my weapon of choice! Perfect to get down... and the length (3:55) is just right to get all said and done. :D
