Bands at Progpower

It's final. I only do 10 bands (5/night) so that each band gets a "real" set length. See the schedule for complete details.

I will say that if someone drops out, I have a reserve list ready to go.

Not for nothing, but I may want someone to drop out. Who is on the reserve list? Or do i really want to know?

Exactly. I'm sure Glenn doesn't want people whining about how they'd rather see band x over a band on the lineup, so why doesn't he switch those bands, blahblahblahsdfh

I should have known better before I posted that on this forum. Everyone over analyzes everything here. The post was partly made in jest although I am not denying that i would love to know who the alternates were. I realize that Glenn will not release that info unless he wants an influx of discussion on the board. The post was just a natural reaction based on curiosity. Hey, it would make for some interesting discussion!

Glenn,

You have any concerns about Vanden Plas right now? Remember they dropped out for PP3 at the last minute I think, and you had to backfill them. Was inches away from getting tix to that one when I heard they bowed out.

REALLY, REALLY looking forward to seeing them this go 'round.

I'm not Glenn so I can't speak for him but it's not rare for a band to drop out of a show. VP never gave an in-depth reason for dropping out of PP2, but one of them may be scared of flying and if you add the fact that the 9-11 event happened not long before that, I can understand to a degree why the hesitance.
Don't get me wrong, VP was (and still is) my favorite band and I was absolutely beside myself when they cancelled. I sent a pretty crude E-mail to them after that, but I realized it's just "shit that happens". Stephan and Andreas actually talk on the VP message board to their fans and they are very cool. Much less the fact Gunter was at PP2.0 and is a hell-of-a-guy. They will be here this time.
Glenn took a chance, but it will pay off. They are an excellent sounding band live. I say this not from experience, but from bootlegs and their live album, though. Having said that, how many prog bands release a live album and an acoustic one ? This band will shine and turn a bunch of heads. VP is a great band and a great bunch of guys.
