The Band is called Rotting Christ
Only one song as far as I know that has oriental influences: (for example they use the daf)
Rotting Christ - Athanatoi Este

and it is available to download from their official site

www.rotting-christ.com

do yu think pentagram is same as orphaned land? Lol Orphaned Land is oriental metal pentagram is death metal how do you say that same as orphaned land? And Orphaned Land is a unique group that on their style

Melechesh's new album will be out soon. They will also be interviewed for the follow up to Metal: A Headbanger's Journey. Should be cool to see.

There's also a black metal band called Pentagram from South America I think. There are actually like a bazillion bands called Pentagram.

Actually Pentagram is a bit similar with OL. (just Anatolia album) See,OL is Oriental Death Metal. And "Trail Blazer" from Pentagram is trash(according to ekşi) I guess. Ogun Sanlısoy was doin the vocals in that album and in Anatolia album *a guy which I can't remember his name atm* was doin the vocals. So there's a big difference of sound.

pentagram, or mezarkabul as they are known abroad, is not death metal. yeah they began with thrash metal and with anatolia they added oriental influences, and mostly turkish folk. and they are one of my favourite bands for sure :)
i haven't heard from them until about a month ago and was thinking that they broke up, but there are some news that they gathered again! they are about to give concerts, and a surprise: Demir Demirkan (ex-guitarist of the band) has joined the band once more and they will perform with 3 guitars probably! i wonder what will it be like...

I really haven't heard an band similar to OL
I don't think those two do. Either way I sort of like the first one.

yeah that song has "darbuka" which is a middle eastern instrument and the song is a bit "oriental". but the point is: i was very surprised when i heard that song for the first time, because that is not really rotting christ's style.. and i don't think they have any other songs like that. so, they are not "oriental influenced" :loco:

Yes, but in that case the most of the metal bands are similar to Orphaned Land.

For example, oriental themes there are at many of the songs of Amorphis. Nile has also much more oriental influences than Rotting Christ, but we cannot call them oriental death metal band.

Anyway, you may find oriental ifluences at many bands, from Crimson Glory to Iron Maiden.

well I have to disagree.

and about Rotting christ I said that Athanatoi Este was their only song that includes some oriental influences

Amorphis yes I remember the first song from the Elegy Album yes it's very oreintal indeed.

As for Bands "Simmiliar" to OL, I don't think there is any, most bands seem to come up with their own orignal idea, it's just the "Oriental" influences that is a common between them.

If this is about Oriental Metal bands, then there are many, like Melechesh and Nile...etc.

If you go check on Myspace you can find many Oriental metal bands, mostly from the Middle East. A friend of mine from my country has an Oriental Black Metal band called Narjahanam (Hellfire in arabic) the riffs are oriental with some middle eastern percssiuon used and ofcourse Arabic lyrics

www.myspace.com/narjahanam

And, even though it's not a band, but the video game Prince of Persia has quite an Oriental metal soundtrack, should get tried sometime.
